Orange County Vary Based on Area

According to DataQuick systems, Orange County has seen a 328 percent increase in foreclosures since one year ago and 2,232 foreclosures in the first quarter alone. That is the highest in at lease 20 years.

But that doesn't paint a complete picture of what's happening. It seems that the pricier zip codes, especially those along the coast, aren't being plagued with foreclosures at all. Two zip codes, 92662 (Balboa Island) and 92823 (Brea), have not had a single foreclosure.

Santa Ana did top the list of most foreclosures in the 92707 and 92701. Booth have more than 10 foreclosures per 1000 homes.

Hopefully by late 2009 or 2010, government initiatives will spur economic growth, which is good for the housing market. Time will tell.
