Here goes another paid (acutally not paid) political announcement.....
C.A.R. is urging REALTORS® to support Proposition 98 and oppose Proposition 99 when they vote in the upcoming statewide primary election in June. This is the commercial where the children are being evicted out of their home by eminent domain because they want to build a shopping mall. Cute but sad commercial!
Local governments are abusing eminent domain to seize private property and give it to OTHER private entities. C.A.R., the leading voice for private property rights in California, is fighting this unfair practice.
Proposition 98 would impose an outright ban on the use of eminent domain to take any private property - including homes, business and farms - for another private use. It also prohibits future imposition of rent control and inclusionary zoning. Local governments will not be allowed to impose any new rent control - as units are vacated, rent controls will be lifted.
C.A.R. is OPPOSING the other initiative on the same ballot - Proposition 99. Prop. 99 is a TRICK designed to maintain the status quo. It only offers limited protection to owner-occupied single-family residences.
Prop. 99 is particularly dangerous because if both propositions pass and Prop 99 gets more votes it CANCELS OUT Prop. 98. A YES VOTE FOR BOTH MEASURES IS A VOTE AGAINST PROP. 98.
C.A.R. STRONGLY URGES REALTORS® to VOTE YES on 98 and NO on 99.

This is a huge issue. Thanks for making it public. It is a national issue for Realtors.
People need to bring it to their buyers and sellers attention also.
All the best!
Pam ~ Thank you for the informative post. I like your background header by the way!
Hi Pam,
Thanks for sharing the info on this issue, it's so darn important. I'm a BORPAC trustee for my AOR and we really need to do all we can to see this pass.
