Please Give a Warm Welcome to Marian Bennett, Realtor

Marian Bennett, RealtorActive Rain has a new member that I would like to formally introduce to the "rain."

Marian Bennett is a Realtor with Coldwell Banker in San Mateo County in the Half Moon Bay area in Northern California. She is a Bay Area native, one of the founding members of Coastside Mother's Club which now has over 200 members, a huge animal rescue supporter who started Half Moon Bay Review Pet of the Week and contributes to the Half Moon Bay Recreation Division Scholarship Fund for needy children with each closed real estate transaction.

Marian is happily married with a daughter attending Cal Poly and a son attending Half Moon Bay High that plays varsity basketball.

Coastside Real Estate and Lifestyles is Marian's outside blog and she actively participates on a group blog at Home Scopes and Women's Council of Realtors

When Marian began her real estate career in 2003 she worked as an assistant with two top agents. While preparing Listing presentations, buyer tours, navigating through all the paperwork and talking with buyers and sellers she gained knowledge and training from her peers. As an unlicensed assistant she quickly became a licensed assistant and then realized she loved real estate and wanted to become a Realtor. Today, Marian Bennett serves both home buyers and home sellers with her knowledge both in technology skills in communicating, advertising and real estate.

When asked, Marian said that in her free time what she enjoys is learning new technology, walking on the beach and visiting the wine country.

For those attending the Inman Conference in San Francisco, Marian will be there so be sure to say, hi!

Please take a minute out of your day and welcome our newest Active Rain member, Marian and check out her 1st blog post "Awesome Service for Agents, Clients, Family" on Active Rain and leave her a comment. You know how GREAT you feel when someone leaves a comment...won't you go over and leave her one, too?

Hi and welcome to active rain Marian! I'm sure you'll be hooked in no time flat!

Gena,

It's wonderful that you introduced Marian to AR. This is the network to be in if a real estate agent or a mortgage consultant wants to enhance her/his Internet marketing efforts. Welcome and happy blogging.

( 06/24/08 10:15PM ) — Derenda Grubb

Welcome Marian,

I sounds like you are going to be ready to jump right into the Rain and tread water with the best of them.  Don't forget to take time to surf around and visit/meet people and have fun.  There is a lot to learn in the Rain, but you should remember to have fun.

Welcome to AR Marion! You will love this site, good luck and enjoy!

Wow, I'm really overwhelmed by this response!  A special thank you to Cindy, Klarque, Esko, Derenda, Mike, Barbara and Elizabeth also for your personal welcome.  I have bookmarked the sites of all of you who have commented so that I can go back and read them and comment on blogs..when I can.  As I scan your profiles, I see that some of you have added pictures.  I didn't realize I could do that!  When I get a chance I'll add in some cool pics of my area and me!  Thank you everyone, I really appreciate this fabulous welcome!!  Call me any time if you want to chat about what it's like to buy, sell, rent, live near SF, Silicon Valley, Pacific Ocean...

Is there an Active Rain gathering at Inman next month?

Take care all...Marian

Welcome aboard Marian. Congrats to joining active rain. Great intro for Marian Gena.

Marian, you are so very welcome. When I came to Active Rain I didn't know a soul and unfortunately, the person that asked me to join was no longer active so I had to kind of feel my way around and in those days there was no one to ask nor any of the groups and information that is available today.

My best advice is to read what others write, comment and chose the bloggers that you enjoy reading by subscribing to their blog here on Active Rain as well as making them an associate of yours.

Never put links in your comment on someone else's article unless it would add to what they are saying (frankly, I just never even do that) and enjoy.

It's a great place to make friends, learn a little bit about your fellow colleagues so that when it comes time to send a referral, their name will be at the tip of your tongue.

Enjoy my friend and may you make lots of new friends here in "The Rain." I'll be reading your articles so post away...

( 06/25/08 04:54PM ) — Doug Fritchie

Hey Gena ~ Great job getting Marian onboard with Active Rain. The knowledge here will leap frog her career.

Cindy, isn't it great to have what you call a cheering section...I think Marian feels ever so welcome and I thank you for throwing out the welcome mat.

Klarque, I think you're right...if she is anything like the rest of us she'll be hooked and blogging into the night. Thanks for your warm welcome to Marian.

Esko, thanks for popping on over to wish Marian a big hello. I know that you will do all you can to make her feel welcome.

Derenda, ah yes there is a lot to learn but fun is ever so present here in the Rain. Thanks for giving Marian a heads-up with some great pointers.

Mike, thanks for the nice welcome to Marian...

Vincent, oh yes there are a lot of tools, tricks and spooky characters...but don't give it all away. :) Thanks for your hearty welcome to Marian.

Barbara, thanks but mostly thank you for showing the AR spirit and extending a hand to Marian all the way from New Jersey.

Elizabeth, yep at times it is a little wacky with some colorful characters but still a lot of fun. Thanks for coming on over and making Marian feel welcome.

Marian, looks like you are getting quite the welcome, girl.

You bet Active Rain will be at Inman and we will be discussing photos especially those used on Active Rain...tee hee

Last year, the boys who we call, the "Active Rain gods" had a room upstairs away from the vendors where we could sit, relax, talk and be interviewed. My guess is that they will do the same this year.

Now for inserting photos...here is a visual of how to do it and remember that I am only a call away.

Mike, thanks for the shout out to Marian. This is just part of the Active Rain hospitality...

Doug, I'm sure that we can offer Marian quite a bit and we too, can gleam a lot from her, as well. Thanks for heading on over here to welcome her aboard.

Welcome, Marian!  We are so glad to have you join us in The Rain. You have an amazing mentor!  And kudos to you, Gena, for introducing her to your Rain-friends!  If you have time, please come back to that post I wrote yesterday about the secrets to success on AR and add a link to this post in the comment thread... thanks to the gold star it is still getting lots of comments... I stopped counting around 120! LOL! :)

Jan, thank you so much. I left a comment over on your article and hopefully more AR'ers will bounce on over to welcome Marian. That was ever so generous of you. Thanks again.

I'm sending thanks and greetings to Mike across the Bay in Pleasanton, CA, Doug in Oregon, Jan in Florida, Neal in Texas, Desiree in New Jersey, and William down south in San Diego, CA!!  I so much appreciate your well wishes and this great feeling of welcome.  As Veronica and William point out, I can't think of a better way to get involved in the Active Rain network.  I will work on improving my profile and getting more posts up when I can.  Look for my introduction of a colleague in the near future!!  Gena has been so helpful in guiding me through the process of getting up and going here and I so appreciate this...

This is what I love about re bloggers...they tend to be on top of their game, very giving, very enthusiastic and passionate about real estate, their careers and their contacts.  I'm honored to be meeting so many of you.  I wouldn't be blogging if not for Kevin Boer and Pat Kitano at Domus Consulting!  I've come a long way in 9 months thanks to them.

Neal, thanks for your warm welcome to Marian. Please make sure that you go over and comment on Marian's first blog to get her started. "Awesome Service for Agents, Clients, Family"

Desiree, you betcha...we are the best social networking group out there with lots of great info with a cast of spectacular professionals to get to know. Please take a moment to comment on Marian's 1st blog article and let her know just how wonderful it is to receive comments. Thanks.

William, thank you. I appreciate your comment and your warm heart in welcoming a new member to get them started here in the "RAIN."

Marian, my mistake having omitted Pat Kitano and Kevin Boer of Domus Consulting...both great people that we old timers here in the "Rain" got to know and admire. Glad they got you started blogging. I enjoyed Kevin interviewing me during his class where we originally met. It was an honor and one that I should have included within your introduction.

We all can't wait to read new articles that you post here in the "Rain."  Welcome aboard!

Hi Matthew...thanks so much for your welcome!  It seems like you write good articles.

Hi Pete, thanks for the well wishes from Hawaii!  I just got two ideas from doing a quick scan of your blog.

Hi Sash, I appreciate your hearty welcome, and...what a story!

I plan to visit the blogs of ALL of my well-wishers...I'm still so unprepared for the tremendous response!  Look forward to getting to them all, making new business contacts and friends, and creating more referral business!!

btw, I learned the name highlighting thing from reading Gena's comments here...it's kinda nice seeing our names stand out.  Thanks Gena for another great idea!

Pete, great welcome from Hawaii...I could almost see you putting the lei over Marian's head.

Sasha, thanks for welcoming Marian and making her feel at home plus your helpful link.

Marian, hey that doesn't surprise me, you pick up things quickly. You'll be at 100,000 points before you know it. I'm on my way over to see if you have written another article for me to comment on.
