Cindy McCain...Very Interesting! No comparison between her and Obama's "unproud" wife.

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal on Cindy McCain, John's wife. All I ever saw was this attractive woman standing beside John. I was surprised how talented and involved with world problems she is.
This is a summary of the article. She graduated from Southern Cal and was a special-needs teacher. After her Dad died she became involved with his beer distributing firm and is now the chairwoman. Sales have doubled since she has taken over from her father.
They have a marriage prenuptial agreement, her assets remain separate. She is involved around the world clearing land mines - travels to these countries on a detonation team and service on their board.
They have a 19 year old serving in Iraq, another son in the Naval Academy, a daughter recently graduated from Columbia Univ., an adopted daughter in high school, and a son who is the finance guy at the beer firm. Raised kids in Phoenix, Az. rather than Washington DC. (better atmosphere) He commuted.
In 1991, Mrs. McCain came across a girl in an orphanage in Bangladesh. Mother Teresa implored Mrs. McCain to take the baby with severe cleft palate. She did so without first telling her husband.
The couple adopted the girl who has had a dozen operations to repair her cleft palate and other medical problems. They have a Family Foundation for children's causes. She's active with 'Halo Trust' - to clear land mines, provide water and food in war ravaged and developing countries. She will join an overseas mission of 'Operation Smile', a charity for corrective surgery on children's faces. 
She has had two back surgeries and became addicted to pain killers. She talks openly about it which she says is part of the recovery process. I'm surprised the media is so quiet about her attributes. She sounds more capable than Hillary or Obama. We would really get two for the price of one. A person with business and international experience. John did work for the firm for awhile when he left the Navy. She, however, has the real business experience. Very interesting.
WELL, ALL WE NEED IS TO BE OUR OWN PRESS THESE DAYS SINCE I DON'T SEE NIGHTLINE OR THE PRESS PICKING THIS UP. IT IS TOO POSITIVE TO BE HEADLINES, THEY WOULD RATHER DO A SPIN ON REV. WRIGHT AND OBHAMA, OR HILLARY AND OBHAMA BAD NEW TRAVELS FAST BUT THE GOOD TAKES MORE TIME. THIS ENCOURAGING BIT OF INFORMATION SHOULD RAISE MORE THAN MILLIONS FOR MCCAIN FORGET ABOUT OBHAM TERRORISTS(HAMAS) BACKING THAT THE PUBLIC DOESN'T SEEM TO HEAR ABOUT. JUST REMEMBER I TOLD YOU SO!!!!

They have a nice little family.
I have to wonder if she just stays out of the limelight on purpose so there isn't much to report on her but then the press pushes for news and makes news where there is none. I assure you they are watching her every move looking for something to report that will make her look bad.

Cindy and John are both people who know the meaning of the word service. We should be proud to have them as president and first Lady of our country.
Mary, Thanks for putting this info on Cindy McCain out there so people can know more about her - the press says nothing about her accomplishments, they're concentrating on Obama and his wife. Hopefully that will change soon.

Hi Mary. She sounds like a kind and capable woman. BTW, did they ever resolve the case of Cindy McCain and the plagarized cookie receipe? I'm curious what the spin on that was because she certainly sounds nice, but despite overseeing the doubling beer sales in AZ I would say that if she did blatantly misrepresent a Hershey's website recipe as her own and didn't expect she would be caught that her "smarts" are questionable.

Lets see- One potential first lady has been sitting in a "church" where they teach hate for 20 years and the other has been doing real charity work. We don't vote for first ladies but if we did there would be no question Cindy is the one.

Cindy McCain is kept out of the spotlight for many reasons. First, she was the " other " woman in an adulterous affair with John McCain while he was married to his first wife. She was horribly injured in an automobile accident and McCain was going out on her with Cindy. It was a long time ago, but still a subject best left alone. Also, the little Indian girl you write so glowingly about, was slandered heavily by the Rove lead Bush campaign of 2000. They called voters all over the south and implied that the girl was a " black love child " fathered by John McCain with a black mistress during an extra-marital affair. In a very " rovesque " fashion, the question was couched in terms that could be rhetorical and ambiguous. " What would you think about John McCain if he was found to have a black daughter from an extra-marital affair?". That way the Bush campaign could say they never really said that McCain had an illegitimate black love child. sneaky.

but the McCain's still looks and are more stabile than Obama with his link to Hamas terriosts and Hamas just bailed Obama's business partner out of Jail and annouced Hamas is backing Obama for President... Israel, If you are going to get charisma charmed and sling dirt , I would question who I am slinging dirt for? This is a very scary election and the public needs to be careful.
Just watch the Forum put on by Rick Warren , Obama, he did not rate well with the Christians, Mc Cain came out on top with that...Obama is seducing the Social Architects, Wake Up America!!!
Great post Mary and I don't know why Israel even posted such negative on a nice post. Cindy is a lovely woman and she and her husband have SERVED America and will continue to do so. We can learn from them.
The first lady does a lot more than just sit in a chair and look pretty. Cindy has a lot going for her and will dot he offic eproud let alone the country!!
Cindy McCain is a real dynamo! She will be the best 1st lady this nation has had in decades, maybe ever. She will make hillary clinton look like a backwoods yocal, and her innititives will get passed, again unlike hillary. If McCain can find a young, dynamic VP, he and Cindy will really wow the country in what they can accomplish.
Mary and Lanita- Sorry, but it's the truth. Look into it. John McCains affair has been admitted to and is public knowledge. Cllinton and Edwards are scum of the earth, but McCain gets a pass? The story about the smear on John McCain by the Bush campaign is also common knowledge. I wasn't smearing anyone. Just answering your question as to why she isn't more in the spotlight. Sorry if my answers weren't to your liking.

She never actually met Mother Theresa - so Mother Theresa didn't actually do the "imploring" for the adoption - but I agree, she sounds like a great lady.
I would really prefer if Cindy was running with John McCain instead of Palin - I can't believe he chose her! What was he thinking? I am shocked by the lies they've told us about Palin to make her seem credible - it's beyond spin now. Surely Cindy could steer the campaign straight.
Wow! What an education. Let's face it, we all have baggage in our lives. I appreciate Israel's historical perspective as I did not know that. Sounds like Carl Rove. I was impressed with Cindy's eloquence at the Republican convention as it was the first time I heard from her after seeing her hundreds of times accompanying McCain around the country. She will do well and serve as an inspiration should she be given the job as first lady. She will make us all proud.
Very rarely is her charity work and volunteer work mentioned --- and when it is, there's bound to be a hateful comment about her addiction to pain killers.
Charity work overseas is not a new thing for her -- she's been doing it for 30 years!
And...Mrs. McCain, the wife of Sen. John McCain and mother of four, founded the American Voluntary Medical Team, which helps bring doctors to war-torn countries.
