We are know Google adwords which pay you for every person who clicks on the ad. But you only earn money if your visitors click on an ad.

There are other options for ad placement such as http://www.adsdaq.com, they pay per 1000 impressions. You can set the payment per 1000 impressions anywhere from $0.25 to $4.00.

adsdaq.com offers multiple sizes and shapes of ads, if they can not fill all your ads they will place public services ads so you are not faced with blank spaces on your website.

I used only adsdaq.com for the first month, they were able to fill approx. 36% of my impressions with paid ads the balance were filled by public service ads.

I have now added Google adwords as backup ads. When adsdaq.com is unable to provide a paid ad it will revert to Google ads.
