Attitude

Today my thoughts are on Attitude. Every day of our life our attitude determines what kind of day we are going to have. To take it a step further not only does it determine what kind of day we are going to have. Our attitude is the basis for what kind of week we are going to have, what kind of month we are going to have, what kind of year we are going to have. Finally our attitude determines what kind of life we are going to have. All of us at times are going through battles that we did not choose. The finale of that battle is determined by the type of attitude we have about it and thus determines how we will handle the situation. I was told by my Father years ago when he had a stroke and went blind something I will never forget. I was down one day and he said the thing that I needed to do was get up get busy and pursue my dreams. He said never give up. This man had lived for 70 years working full time. Then all of a sudden his life took a turn. He lost his eyesight. You want to talk about a man that had a positive attitude. He lived blind until he passed May 7th, 1998. That is eighteen years blind. You better believe he had his bad days. But he told me one day that "No matter what your situation is, someone in the world is having it worse." I can remember my Dad having a conversation one time with someone who was slowly dying of Asbestos Poisoning. This man Joe told my Dad, "At least you can breathe! My Dad told him At least you can see." They would just laugh and just say well at least we dont have this like this person or that like that person. He taught me re-evaluation along with self-evaluation. I will save more things that I learned from my Father in later blogs. I could talk about him every day all day. So before you preach doom and gloom does anyone else in the world have it worse than you. I can assure you that they do. Attitude means everything. THANK YOU DAD! I LOVE YOU!
