I am happy to see more information about Gov. Sarah Palin.... Great news for the Silent Majority, Christians will be pleased to know her religious background. I am even more thrilled to learn even more fantastic history on Gov. Pulin,.. She is the one we have been waiting for! McCaine/Pulin 2008
just received this from one of our missionary couples, Don and Patti Hall. Interesting! --- On Sat, 8/30/08, Date: Saturday, August 30, 2008, 1:16 PM
The following item came today. What a blessing it would be for our nation if Gov. Sarah Palin's addition to the Republican ticket, with her conservative values & leadership, would galvanize enough support to help bring victory in November. Let's keep praying for God's will and continued favor on America. -- Don/Patti ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From the Summer 2008 Alaska Update Published by Alaska District Council of the Assemblies of God, Inc.
The opening night banquet of the 2008 Alaska District Council was honored to have Governor Sarah Palin address the delegates and guests. Governor Palin spoke of her appreciation for the Assemblies of God and requested that the Council pray for both her and the State of Alaska. Superintendent Ted Boatsman, who was Palinʼs youth pastor at Wasilla Assembly, along with Pastor Mike Rose of Juneau Christian Center, where Palin presently attends church when in Juneau, laid hands on the Governor and led the Council in prayer. Palin, who was elected Governor in 2006, is Alaskaʼs youngest governor and the first female governor of the state. She just recently gave birth to her fifth child, Trig. Palin spoke of the faith challenge she faced when learning that Trig would be a Downs Syndrome child. However, she and her husband, Todd, believe that every child is a gift of God, deserving of life, and that God was asking them to accept His will for their lives. The Alaska District Council believes that the State of Alaska is blessed to have a woman of faith and courage as Governor. ~Submitted by Lattis Campbell THE ALASKA UPDATE

Mary, her nomination is every bit as historic as that of Barack Obama, and her decision to bring her youngest child to term and into a loving family presents a stark contrast to Obama's position on the value of human life.
Mike in Tucson
I agree that Palin is a huge plus in the presidential elections!
Mary,
I can't WAIT to see what this Dianamic team does for our country! I KNOW great things are ahead with these two people leading our GREAT country. God Bless McCain and Palin and GOD BLESS AMERICA!
Have a wonderful Labor Day today. Happy SELL'ng.
It's been 16 days since the last post...don't let your enthusiasm wain...
Remember what we're voting for...respect for life, cutting of earmarks and pork barrell spending, strong defense, and complete respect for the American Family and true women's rights...not the right to murder infants.
...and what we're voting against - Socialism, lack of respect for human life, higher taxes and more government takeover of our everyday lives.
Proud to be conservative and voting McCain/Palin.
Dave Culberton, Broker/Owner, Real Living Home Team Real Estate, Mount Vernon, OH
Hey Dave,,,,,Catch up with my blog.... You must have missed my post, dude
http://activerain.com/blogsview/680426/Judaeo-Christians-be-afraid
Hope you keep on blogging on McCain/Palin too!!!
Watch her interview with Katie Couric. If you still feel she should be a 72 year old heartbeat away from president than your either brainwashed or greedy (afraid of paying more taxes)
Afraid of paying more Taxes???? That is exactly why we need to consider voting for McCain and Palin. I have heard some say that she kinda stutterd on a few of her answers...well, that sounds like Obama all the time!
William, no one wants to pay more taxes. Based on your comment you have heard second accounts of her performance. You really need to watch it. Stuttering is one thing, but she clearly is not qualified for this high office. I am concerned that taxes would be almost irrelevant, if Palin were in charge with Russia continuing its aggression.
GIVE ME A BREAK! Sarah Palin did so much better than Obama could have DREAMED of! He couldn't even remember the name on the bracelet of the soldier he was SUPPOSE to be honoring by NEVER FORGETTING!!!
I would like for some one to count the "ums, well you see, ah" and so forth that Obama uses in five minutes of words as compared to Senator McCain OR Governor Palin.
Kathy, what interview of Palin did you watch?
Jay ~ What debate did you watch when Obama couldn't remember the very name he had on his wrist? Your messiah is flawed. And you fail to answer the questions when it doesn't serve your purpose. How very liberal of you.
Hi Nicholas: The name calling and the insults never stop do they? Anyone paying attention, regardless of their ideology, knows how bad the last two weeks have been for Palin. Her interviews have been horrific by anyone's standard. How many conservatives are now starting to balk after these interviews as well forget those you constantly and rudely label "liberal"?
Unfortunately Kathy brought up a matter that has ZERO importance. I guess Steven Hawking isn't intelligent either. Who was wearing the lapel pin during the debate for all those who like to muddle in outright rediculous matters?
The name on a bracelet on one's wrist solves NO PROBLEMS whether you remember the name, don't remember the name, mispronounce the name, or any other human reaction nor does a silly lapel pin.
Nicholas, let me make it clear to you and anyone else that uses the word "messiah" with regards to Obama - neither I nor anyone else that opposes 72-year-old McCain and especially Miss Wasilla think of Obama as the messiah. I have listened to and read about these two candidates and believe that Obama is in a few words... is the best choice for our future. In 2000, I listened to and read about Bush and McCain and believed that 63-year-old McCain was a much better choice than "W".
Kathy, I agree, Mccain changed Obama's diapers if you ask me...
Yes, we should all be afraid of Obama's brilliant plan to raise taxes on the wealthy Dangerous move,,,Just when will Mr. Charisma figure it out that he will only bring more pain, costs and ruin the jobs for the little guy if he goes after the rich...Hello this is not brain surgery.
What do you think the rich are going to do if they are taxed more? Cut jobs, increase our prices and pass on the costs to us, the middle class..We are the ones that will suffer..Obama is a scary thought...He is just as Nick and the rest of the McCain voters say...The Messiah of the Democrats, Liberals and anything else you want to call them
Personally, anyone who follows the Social Architects of this society, the Obama followers do not know a thing about business or the economy and we are about to take a big fall into brainless eloquent speeches that sound good but like the speaker, can't walk the walk or talk the talk....Does Obama even answer the questions directly? NO just beat around the bush, How many lies, oh excuse me contradictions was he caught in in the debate..Check that record if you want to talk reality...Jay read this- nobama...save this country and stop listening to the love, peace and we are going to help the poor, the suffering , the health insurance crisis, the man is encapable of it.
Don't you get sick of everyone ppickin on Sarah Palin,,that is just because she is such a threat,,,That interview was a set up from the start...Nice attitude that Katie Couric had what a witch...That is a funny comment about being afraid of paying more taxes,, more like afraid of destroying our economy even more is the facts...
Mary Thomas, why not register with ActiveRain so we can see who you are?
Jay, I guess I'm having a "brain belch" moment.....BUT WHAT are you talking about in your last comment? Did I miss something? Mary, its a foggy morning....do YOU get what he's meaning?
I get that its' probably a slam of some sorts, but not sure on what. Excuse my ignorance.
NOW....ROGER B. ~ the fact that he forgot the name of the one soldier he had been asked to remember IS A VERY RELEVANT POINT! IF he can forget something like that, how is he suppose to remember IMPORTANT names, facts in times of pressure. Does Senator McCain ever forget, well sure he does but I think the scales are tipped just a bit in Obama favor for being the one that JUST DOESN'T GET IT OR UNDERSTAND!! The lapel pin thing also proves that he is trying to make a last ditch effort to impress everyone. Again, one more thing that he has not stood by that was supposedly a very strong personal belief that he had. Someone convinced him to change his mind. Do we really want someone that is going to be that bad of a political puppet? I have said it before, he is just going to be the Democrats EYE CANDY!!!
Have a good day all, I'm going out now to try and pull one more sale out of the garbage because of the bank buy outs and such.
Kathy, Mary uses a common form of propaganda - glittering generalities.
"bring more pain, costs and ruin the jobs for the little guy if he goes after the rich" why, how, what logic supports this idea?
"nobama...save this country and stop listening to the love, peace and we are going to help the poor, the suffering , the health insurance crisis, the man is encapable of it." again, why, how, what logic supports this idea?
It's unsettling to think of someone voting for McCain or Obama if they are uninformed. It is equally as unsettling to think that Palin cut funding for special education in Alaska. Palin also made rape victims pay for "rape kits". Those are not things that a Christian should do or have done.
Jay ~ Again, how wrong you are, and how self righteous. Mary Thomas has been a member of Active Rain and Silent Majority for almost a year now.
I am glad you are unsettled. Being a liberal should make you unsettled, becuase you have been uninformed for quite some time now, and it has not affected you in the least.
I apologize Mary. I stand corrected on the membership and deleted my comment.
Jay stop mixing logic and facts. You can't pretend that anything Obama has said is logic it is a fact that what he suggests will not work..scary that you don't get that.
As for commments all you do is criticize and Roger jumped on NIck...Hey Roger, jump on Jay too if you want to be fair...
It is more scary that some people do not know big business that are voting for Obama Are you done yet insulting us...Why can't Liberals and Democrats base their conversations on Facts...
like the Fact that everytime Obama screws up or forgets someones name you people just pretend it did not happen...I hope that you can pretend the mess Obama is going to make if he becomes President did not happen also..Jusitification and insults make for a weak arguments....
Hey Nick if the liberals based their views on facts and business statistis, like what happens when you raise the riches taxes? I guess they would be voting for McCain/Palin...
Kathy trying to get them to take on facts is a waste of time..just pretend it is not important or never addressit is what the Obama followers do...It is a sad day in America..God bless you and your work, hope your sale pans out.
Jay I never saw your comment but thanks, Nick to the rescue,,,Thank You...and I have been too busy to blog ,drowning in leases, Our Makers abundance has been blessing me...and I have been on a/r for a 1 1/2 years fyi...Or how did I get 88,000 points..
Not by keeping my mouth shut...Have a blessed day all!!!
Jay I can see you are a social architect and those problems concern you but the bigger picture right now is not social issues but business and the economy, Obama is not equipped to run that...This is just a glittering fact.... Social issues are just glittering on the back burner and will be for awhile. We all want to help the poor but it is better to give to charity and get a real experienced business man and political expert in the White House.
Mary, that's the point of politics - support candidates/ideas that are right and criticize candidates/ideas that are wrong. Without critical thinking, there is no debate and there is no democracy.
Jay ~ I removed the liberal joke, it sounded harsher than I would of liked. Just prodding you.
Mary,
I am proud to be swupporting Sarah Palin. She walks her talk unlike others running!
Kathy: I respect your opinion but again disagree. To make the leap, "IF he can forget something like that, how is he suppose to remember IMPORTANT names, facts in times of pressure" than I suggest, in the spirit of your argument, that you should have even greater fear of McCain. Despite all claims that his strong-suite is foreign policy, he mixed up the names of countries amongst other follies, having to be corrected by Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman during a press conference (no debate type pressure) while in the Middle East. We all make these goofy mistakes day in and day out. If we had to be this letter perfect most of us would be failures.
The lapel pin is an unbelievably sad commentary on the American people who put so much emphasis into such a mundane issue. Patriotism has nothing to do with a material. Again, unfortunately, this is all that many people pay attention to. If you don't blindly support the President and wave the American flag at every corner, then you are unpatriotic. In fact, the conservatives claim to own patriotism while the rest of us, labeled as liberals "hate our country" as I was told on another Active Rain Blog. All of us who didn't support Bush and his push into Iraq were called unpatriotic and supposedly don't support the troops simply because we didn't support Bush's policy. Thanks to commentators like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Michael Savage, etc., their followers practice the same intellectually void tactics of belittling those who don't agree with their ideology while purposefully and malitiously driving a social wedge between the American people.
If Obama needs to wear a lapel pin so that someone who likes him can now feel at peace that he is patriotic so be it. Again, I would suggest the travesty is that American people get muddled in such meaningless debate. As for this nonsense that you shouldn't change your mind. I guess I'm a puppet too because I'm always changing my real estate investing business based on discussions that I have with affiliates that I work with. Times, circumstances, and conditions are constantly changing, aren't they? Is it the mark of a strong person to stand behind their convictions even if they are wrong? Why are we always changing and updating what we do? I'll answer ... we're trying to make a better product. Unless you are solely driven by ideology, what critical thinker wouldn't change course when enlightened by FACTS that present a clearer picture providing for better success of the goal(s) being pursued? Welcome to Bush's Iraq policy. Has this mentality or lack there of helped the American people?
Lastly, it seems that the loudest critics of Obama are those who supported Bush through two terms, now clamoring for McCain / Palin. Can you really value someone's opinion who has such a track record? Should we really be concerned with what such an individual thinks when their judgment and critical thinking got it severely wrong twice and we are all now paying the price for Bush's lack of leadership? Republican, Democrat, or any other party, who is the LEADER? If a leader doesn't matter, then I should randomly select someone to take over my businesses.
Mary: There is no need for name calling on either side. I didn't call out Jay because I have not been told by Jay to take "prozac" amongst countless other snide labels lobbed my way by Nicholas on nearly every blog where Nicholas and I have had exchanges. I was obviously commenting on Kathy's original thoughts consequently supported by Nicholas.
Since you want a discussion on the facts. Didn't you have a blog where you slammed Obama for tire pressure comments when the Bush administration stated the same? Why didn't you mock the Bush administration and present that fact in your discussion? Didn't you have another blog to wake up the American people by trying to scare them with a McCain campaign ad presenting a caricature of Obama? Was that video a factual representation or good theater? Now this post showing us how great Palin will be because of her alleged devoted religious views as if that is the only issue that has any relevance in this election. Unfortunately, for many, religion is the only issue they vote for. So be it, it's your right.
On many blogs you often refer to big business. Your comment:
"What do you think the rich are going to do if they are taxed more? Cut jobs, increase our prices and pass on the costs to us, the middle class..We are the ones that will suffer..Obama is a scary thought...He is just as Nick and the rest of the McCain voters say...The Messiah of the Democrats, Liberals and anything else you want to call them."
Are we living in the same country? Jobs have already been cut, gas and staple products pricing has already gone through the roof, the middle class are already suffering unbelievably. Yet it is Bush, our President, not Obama from whom you fear the results you've already been handed. What happened over the last eight years? When are Bush's tax cuts for big business going to kick in to help the average American? Before you blame the Democrats I would suggest looking at our government under FULL Republican control for the first six years of Bush's administration.
It would be great to have a discussion based on the facts rather than one's ideology on Christianity and all that it encompasses. Until then, thank you for your post ... Palin sure looks to be a good Christian.
Roger ~ Why don't you go bother some one else on the Dissent group. It amazes me we don't comment on your blogs, but you can't help yourself from attacking someone elses post that didn't even invite you to?
When we want to hear from a liberal, we'll call you.
Well that was an amazing read. BTW, I'm very focused on the issues at hand and feel that while we are pointing out McCain used a wrong name...
Biden used the wrong president talking on a non invented television in 1929. Go figure. We all mis speak sometimes.
Hi Nicholas: As always, my comments, whether you agree with them or not, only address issues being discussed and didn't realize that these groups were "invite" only areas.
I promise you I will NEVER resort to the name calling and disrespect that you subscribe to. I'm interested in discussing the issues, not interested in calling people names, hating those who don't agree with me, and preaching to the choir.
Roger, I look forward to reading many more of your comments!
Roger,,I don';t even think we are on the same planet...We all know that "Jobs have already been cut, gas and staple products pricing has already gone through the roof, the middle class are already suffering unbelievably. Yet it is Bush, our President, not Obama from whom you fear the results you've already been handed. What happened over the last eight years? When are Bush's tax cuts for big business going to kick in to help the average American? Before you blame the Democrats I would suggest looking at our government under FULL Republican control for the first six years of Bush's administration"
I suggest that you check facts on the link with Clinton and the subprime issue...That Bush is now cleaning up...Go find my blog on how the truth is that the Clinton Administration is responsible for all this mortgage trouble which will come out to the liberal public later but I am sure it will be sweep under the rug...
Fact is even more jobs will be cut, prices go up if the Messiah taxes the rich..watch and see.
Nicholas, I always wonder why they come on our blogs and attack us,, Do you see us on their blogs? no.It was called Just one look and I had to leave lalala land.... I thought.why bother,,We know better that to think we will change their minds and why waste time arguing...Maybe because we don't go on their blogs and everyone else is patting each other on the back do they feel compelled to believe that what they are saying is correct...Looks so dead wrong to me that I don't even waste the time to get into the mumbo jumbo that I saw flying on their blogs...I guess we are letting them live under a false bubble that I just stuck a pin in...Anyone going on their blog is just someone who want to be confrontational
Have a blessed day and may peace be on our blogs...We don't go telling them they are wrong...because it is just that soooo wrong..
Mary: To begin with it's hard to have a discussion with someone who wants to blame Clinton for everything that is wrong in the world. If everything is Clinton's fault than why even have leaders anymore? Let's just throw our hands in the air and give up because we will never be able to return from the insinuated disaster of the Clinton presidency.
I'm not quite sure what fact you are referring to in regards to "Clinton and the subprime issue". Are you referring to his response to the "The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999"? The same Phil Gramm that has served as McCain's co-chairman and financial advisor?
It's easy to simply point a finger at "the other guy". Unfortunately, the financial mess that Americans are confronted with are nowhere near as cut and dry as you would like to make it out to be. Would you say that Bush's "America's Home Ownership Challenge" policies helped exacerbate the issue too? A bit curious he would support such a policy in lieu of knowing the ultimate dangers of Clinton's financial policies:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/09/20040902-5.html
Your comment: "Fact is even more jobs will be cut, prices go up if the Messiah taxes the rich..watch and see."
The only FACT associated with this comment is that you are now attempting to predict the future, merely guessing at what none of us could possibly know. In your previous post, didn't you make it clear that you wanted to discuss the facts?
"Why can't Liberals and Democrats base their conversations on Facts..."
I come to these blogs because it's impossible to make America a better place by simply preaching to the choir and not discussing the issues at hand especially with those whom you disagree with. If collaborating isn't important than why do roughly a 110k of us use Active Rain? Don't we get to a better place by working together to discuss problems and working together to create solutions rather than attacking and belittling those who don't agree with you?
Again, unfortunately so many of these blogs are so blindly ideologically driven that people do just what you insinuate the "other side" does. Actually, just as you are doing now, patronizing me by palling up with Nicholas.
The rest of your comments are just pure insults for which I have just one question. Having seen other blogs of yours and viewing your profile it is quite evident that Christianity is very important to you. What church is it that you go to that teaches all of this disdain?
Roger,
Why are you on here? Just to argue, criticize and tell us we are wrong in your opinion...Yes, that is all this is is your opinion and beliefs Which we do not agree with....You are not going to make any points that are going to change our feelings, our life or our minds...Yes, Nick and I agree on most everything just like they will agree with you on the Liberals blog and your point??? you won't find agreement hear so why are you here to attack christians and our churches???>>> Did I miss your reason for joining this discussion? Just because we don't agree and we object to your behavior you go after my christianity...PLEASE this conversation is over,I am sorry if it upsets you, Why are you jumping into the fire?? Do you think because we are christian that we are going to sit around and be dumped on?? Next you will be telling me that Jesus did not overturn the tables in the temple when they were sinning..I think not.. I do hope that God will bless you with his wisdom and bring you peace to fight his fight...God Bless, Mary
Hi Mary: Since you diverted from what we were discussing and didn't respond to any of my points, I don't have much to say as I clearly stated why I comment on these blogs in my previous comments.
In regards to "why are you here to attack christians and our churches???"
Excuse me.
THERE HAVE BEEN NO ATTACKS FROM ME ON CHRISTIANITY IN ANY POST THAT I HAVE EVER MADE LET ALONE HERE SO PLEASE DON'T PUT WORDS INTO MY MOUTH AND START RUMORS ATTACKING MY CHARACTER BY INSINUATING SOMETHING THAT WAS NEVER SAID.
My point was very clear in asking "what church is it that you go to that teaches all of this disdain". You're not the only Christian, I go to a Catholic church and have my entire life.
NO CHURCH. Let me reiterate NO CHURCH that I've ever gone to preaches calling people names and labeling people the way you and Nicholas have done here - again the record is clear for all to read.
Not an attack, just the facts!
Thank you for the background on her....
Nothing makes people madder than politics.
I hope McCain wins.
