Rally in the Valley ~~~This is our best shot to make an IMPACT! Join us.....

We need everyone at the Stockton Arena (248 W. Fremont St.) Saturday September 6th (This Saturday) at Noon . (Pretty Please)

Congressman Barney Frank, who is one of the most influential people in the Housing Industry in this Nation, will be conducting a field hearing. He was invited by Congressmen McNerney and Cardoza to help Northern California's effort to climb out of the foreclosure crisis.

This is our chance to come out in numbers and send the message that REINSTATEMENT OF DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE IS A CRITICAL COMPONENT TO THE SOLUTION to this crisis.

Please invite as many people as you can. Please forward the email below to your whole email list. Invite everyone, not just industry connections, this effects everyone from the your child's third grade teacher to the postman.

We have to have at least 500 supporters and we need closer to a thousand. I apologize for the short notice. This is the best shot we will have in Northern California to make a difference.

Thank you so much!

Most of you have sent letters, made phone calls and visited your local Congressman and Senator's offices. I know because we have over 85,000 letters in support of DPA and the new bill HR 6694. Many of you have been participating in our weekly town hall meetings; I know because our attendance has exceeded 5,000 each time. Thank you again, your support means everything right now.
All of you recognize the impact of loosing Down Payment Assistance and many have asked what else can be done.

-Rally in the Valley-

Testimony on how foreclosures are hurting the Northern San Joaquin Valley will be offered during a House Committee on Financial Services "field hearing" Sept. 6 in Stockton. (At Stockton Arena www.stocktonarena.com )
Valley housing experts and community leaders will share their views with members of Congress.
Rep. Barney Frank, D-Massachusetts, the committee's chairman, will attend the event and gather information on behalf of the full 70-member congressional committee.
The public is invited to listen to testimony offered during the hearing, which will start at noon in the Stockton Arena, 248 W. Fremont St.
Among those invited to testify will be:
· Patty Amador, president of Ambeck Mortgage Associates of Modesto
· Merced Mayor Ellie Wooten
· Carol Ornelas, chief executive officer of Visionary Home Builders in Stockton
· State Sen. Mike Machado, D-Linden, chairman of the Banking, Finance and Insurance Committee
· Cynthia Abbot, Sacramento field office director for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
· Pam Canada, district manager of the NeighborWorks HomeOwnership Center, Sacramento Region
Their comments will be included in the Congressional Record.
Rep. Dennis Cardoza, D-Merced, and Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, asked Frank to hold the hearing in Stockton.
This is a formal hearing. We are finalizing plans for a way in which we can make our presence and support of DPA known in a respectful and appropriate manner. In a hearing created to discuss how we got into this mess and how we can get out; the reinstatement of Down Payment Assistance MUST be discussed and given significant consideration. It is not our intention as a group to be adversarial in any way, and we should not distract from the overall goal of this hearing.

The most powerful way that we can influence this event is to have as many supporters as possible in attendance!
BRING FRIENDS!!!!!

This is our best shot to make an impact in Northern California before October 1st.
Please reply to this message with a head count so I can finalize our plan.
Thanks again.
