using social bookmarking to increase web traffic

Social Bookmarking site such as Digg, del.icio.us can increase you google ratings and therefore increase traffic to your website(s).

If today in the poor housing market you have say 200 listings for homes and business's for sale and are listed on your web site. When the housing market makes a turn around all of these listings will be gone.

Consider that if these listing can draw traffic to your website for 5 10 or 20 years after they are sold.

If you tagged each of your 200 listings with Digg on your website they would be listed in the internet forever, if you also tagged each of your listings with del.icio.us you now have 200 additional times the same listings were available on the internet forever.

Now consider if you added these same 200 listings to craigslist.org and tagged them with Digg and del.icio.us you would have another 400 internet references to your website and company.

Now consider if you added these same 200 listings to SacramentoGrapevine.com and tagged them with Digg and del.icio.us you would have another 400 internet references to your website and company.

Now consider if you were the listing agent for example who had a a county store in Kentucky for sale that was tagged with social bookmarking and I was doing an internet search using the same search criteria. Even though this listing may have been sold long ago, I still have your name, company name, and phone number to ask if this listing is still valid or if you have other simular listings.
