McCloud has to be one of our favorite little towns to visit. It's perfect for a weekend getaway or even for an overnight stay, especially this time of year. You can drive to McCloud and be there within an hour (with exception of bad weather conditions). with a population of less than 1,500 residents, life in McCloud is very low-key.

For us it's a great place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or those "just because" trips. One of our past client and now dear friends of ours know how much we love this part of the Northstate and recently gave us a Bed & Breakfast gift certificate along with a fabulous dinner at the famous Shasta Sunset Dinner Train! The dinner train experience was magical. A four-course dining experience I'll never forget. Elegant and formidable.
The scenery in McCloud is spectacular. This quaint little town is a popular destination retreat for many around the country, Californians and those of us here in Redding. Lots of pine trees, scenic splendor and Mt. Shasta towering above town. If your definition of a relaxing vacation is tranquility, pure mountain air, spring-fed tap water, and crystal clear lakes and streams, McCloud is definitely the place.
One of my favorite things to do in McCloud is shopping. There are several local shops that feature everything from fine jewelry, hand-made clothing, antiques and unique gift items. We also enjoy visiting the Chocolate Café...let's just say you have to stop and taste!
Lodging: Depending on the length of your stay, you can go for a vacation rental, a hotel or a bed and breakfast (my favorite). We stayed at the McCloud Bed & Breakfast where we found the service to be superior and the morning breakfast was unbelievable. I can't wait to go back.

Living in Redding is ideal because we're surrounded by little towns such as McCloud where you can spend an afternoon, a day or a whole weekend just exploring or relaxing.
