When I was a young girl, Bridge House was a tiny community along Highway 16, just 25 miles east of Sacramento. The bridge continues to stand today, but the little building across the road, of past days is gone. There isn't any historic marker to commemorate the past existence of this place, as it has become absorbed by the existence of the growing community of Rancho Murieta.
The waters below the bridge, are from the Cosumnes River. The area was a favorite swimming hole for teenagers of my era.
The bridge remains as a silent early morning reminder that Bridge House in fact, did exist.
I take pictures for the purpose of remembering fond times. I do not impose copyright restrictions on this photo, so you may feel free to use, or distribute as you wish.
