Rancho Palos Verdes Amnesty for Illegal Construction

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes has begun a temporary program to provide "amnesty" to those residents who have had certain types of construction work performed on their homes without obtaining the required permits. The program, which began December 1st and will continue through May 3rd next year provides a mechanism for approval of certain types of work, such as re-roofing, small additions and pool installation that have already been completed with the City's required permits.

The program will waive the penalty fees normally associated with "after-the-fact" approval os such projects which are twice the regular permit fees for the job. Property owners will only have to pay the regular permit fees normally charged. The work completed will have to comply with building codes and will require a city inspection.
