We try and we try to get to the Farmer's Market on Saturday Mornings. We never make it every Saturday, but we try. There are vendors there that we love and getting the fresh vegetables is a great treat.....tomatoes are wonderful right now and you always find something new.
This time we had a local restaurant giving cooking lessons and tastings. The name of the restaruant is Rivers and we intend to check them out. The Chef was funny and had the audience laughing. I know how to make a Bechamel myself and that was what he was teaching....he was a good teacher. He is the chef and we were charmed. I'll provide the info at the bottom of the post.
This time we had something new to me and I thought it was pretty cool. GetBees.Net. You get your own BeeHive for your own backyard and they service it. I thought this was a rather unique and wonderful way to learn about the Bees. What a wonderful family project.
We had our organic delivery service which I use. They deliver organic produce to your door every week or every other week. Churn Creek Meadow Organic Farm. I recommend their services. The have a variety of boxes to choose from.
There are usually artist performing and pottery, Organic Vegetables, Indian condiments and breads.
Plants and flowers are also available.
For me the hit of the day was the cooking class. That was different and now I have a new restaurant to try.
Here are some more photos of the event and the vendors that were there.
It's always fun with lots of good thing to sample and try.
Shopping is so much more fun at the Redding Farmer's Market!
Our own local Bee Keepers bring their local honey. Each is unique.
Indian condiments, breads and foods.
From The Hearth make wonderful breads of all flavors and types. A special treat for us.
Beautiful tomatoes this time of year. I stocked up.....tomatoe everything this week.
Pick up your special bouquet of flowers to brighten the home. I always bring home flowers!
There's so much more than we could show here. Gourds and pottery to a cowboy singer. It a wonderful and diverse event each and every Saturday morning near the new Redding City Hall. The sky was blue and we had a good time.

Jeanean,
What a beautiful post about your farmer's market! I felt like I was right there. The photos are absolutely lovely...there certainly is a wide variety of things going on at your farmer's market.
This brought back memories of the days when I had a 2 acre organic garden and used to sell heirloom produce, herbs and flowers at the local farmer's market 3 days a week. I absolutely loved it.

Jo, you always make me feel like I've arrived in HEAVEN. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could live our lives like that. Peacefully tending my garden would be heaven for me. Thanks for the visit. Always nice to hear from you!
I know there is a farmer's market near us that I try and stop by every few weeks and they are a great place to go, shop and socialize--really adds to a community if they are done right. Nice post. Take care.
I REALLY need to make a habit of going to the Farmer's Market. Another tip I've learned is that if you have allergies to pollen, etc., eating local honey can help.
