Weather and open house ads

Weather in Redondo Beach.

The big rain coming was news...so I didn't put my ad in the paper.

And when the sun was out all weekend I just put up signs

I did an open house Saturday and showed property Sat and Sunday.

So, I am putting in ads for next weekend.

Really, the weather report made it sound like we were going to get washed out into the ocean.Where is weather accountability?

We walked to the ocean every morning and it was amazing. The big waves were making a surfing heaven for the tons of guys out there in Redondo Beach.

Weather touches us all whether or not it is what is expected.

Rain?? I don't know when your ad deadlines are, but we have to have the ads in a week before the open house. How about this: I put out the signs in the sun (temp was 30 degrees) and when I left I was pulling them out of the snow & ice! Open houses are still a good venue for leads, but I think we need to think long and hard in the cold upstate NY winters!

Rain s good for open houses it makes people go indoors. Of course you have to get them out to go in .

Lynne, I've never thought of the weather as being a deterrent, but you may be on to something.

Lynne - I've found open house traffic to be erratic at best; sometimes the print ads work, sometimes the signs work, mostly, it's been hit or miss in Jacksonville.

Lynne, We are awaiting 6 inches of snow, coming tomorrow - in Ct.  This weekend, a NorEaster.  So, no signs, no open houses:)  It will be a baking, shoveling weekend.  Just like you see the beauty walking along the ocean, we have the beauty of walking on the fresh fallen snow.  It is beautiful at night when it glistens from the moonlight.
