Walking and Real Estate
I went to a seminar from a top Century 21 agent and what is the main thing I took away. WALKING. She has attended Tony Robbins and is coached by Mike Ferry and she gave us an example of her day. She starts with exercise, then reads and meditates. She writes out her goals for each day and at the end goes over her victories.
The next day I woke up my husband and we took off at 6 am across Pacific Coast Highway and down Avenue I straight out to the ocean at Redondo Beach. I saw two top agents; one was from our office Remax Execs South Bay. Maybe there is something to the early bird.
I think the body is our personal real estate and it's a good thing to take it out for a walk.
Each day we walk over to the beach. The first day was foggy. The next day was brighter and the surfers were out along Avenue C. The seagulls had each perched on a lamppost.
We walk along the sand and the crest of Catalina Avenue. The view from Palos Verdes to Malibu is always timeless and changing with the light. We take the 74 stairs straight up and then walk backwards down the ramp for two complete trips. My husband said we need to signal to the body at the end of each walk to expect more. At the top of the steps the first day I wanted to stumble to the car till I remembered we had walked there. I had to laugh at myself. The laughter gave me the oxygen to keep going I guess. This had been a big year. I changed my body in a few ways. I gave up coke cola for breakfast and started Yoga, then I stopped drinking coffee, then I started the dark chocolate weight loss, then I started Isagenix two shakes a day www. pope8.isagenix.com
I'm very happy. I have Brian Buffini and Matthew Ferry coaching. It's about systems and synergy. My husband and I are closer and more connected because of our time together. We are so in love even 32 years married. What is our secret? It is the same values. It has taken a long time for him to get me into exercise. He is a tri-athlete; It's nearly time to head out for the walk. My secret? Laugh and walk, blog and talk, live and love it is a great big wonderful life.

Exercise clears the mind. I run. I have a few Active Rain members I'm trying to get to dust off their treadmills. Maybe they'll read this and become inspired.
Great post! Congratulations on the beauty of your marriage...32 years & in love is quite an achievement! Exercise is the absolute best for you!!! I'm an exercise junkie! I love jogging but it's soooooooooooooooo cold in Oak Ridge NJ, I'm going to have to get a treadmill! Blog on!
Great post Lynne, I also exercise regularly. Sound body, sound mind.
Nice post. For years...and I mean years...I exercised and ran regularly. Over the past year I have stopped - not sure why. Maybe I need to get off my duff. Thanks
I just started this week, back in the gym in the am to ride or walk then in the pm to lift. keep it up
Very good blog keep them coming.Your Orlando & Lake Mary Real Estate Expert, Heather Joubran
Lynne, thanks for the inspiring post. We have to keep the balance and spend time on the inner part of ourselves. When we nurture that part of ourselves, then our goals materialize. Nice post!
Okay, you tapped into my self gulit of knowing I should get more excersie. But then I wouldn't get to spend so much time on AR!! What a trade off.
Very good post. Your marriage is a testament to your business practice and you and your husband's abilities to remain flexible. Impressive.

Dearest Lynne, It sounds as if you could coach! I sure need a coach. Can or will you fill me in on what I should be doing to change or at least better my body? I'm no spring chicken but I don't want to sit around and grow old. Help? Deb
Lynne, My husband and I are coming up to 32 years in April 08. Can't believe how fast it has gone by. We laugh often and do many things together. Causes much of the laughter! Buff's last monthly CD did say, walk or exercise 30 minutes every day. I walk my black lab every morning, he is so grateful to Brian. Ironically, Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, advised walking your dog a minimum of 20 minutes a day. So, it works out rather well for, Jack our lab, and for me;) We are heading to Orlando in January to a Turning Point, can't wait to see Brian and the boys! Good post!
It's a Good Life!
Lynne -- Congratulations in many ways -- exercise is an important part of my life and I plan to keep it that way.
Good for you! Getting started is the hardest part!
Hi Lynne, walking my dogs around the neighborhood is also a great way to be sure I know what's going on in RE..people packing up to move, houses that aren't being cared for any longer..but it also is very relaxing...now I just need the husband to walk with (not that I don't appreciate the company of dogs!)
Nearly a year ago I started getting exercise - I get up at 5 am each morning and go to the gym to spend 30 minutes on the treadmill - and three days a week with weights. By the time I'm showered and ready to start the day, as I walk up the stairs I see the sun coming up over Tampa Bay, and the wonderful glow it puts on the windows of the high-rises overlooking the park and waterfront. I'm addicted - and 60 pounds lighter.
Great post . The early bird gets the worm
Great Post! - I just started walking 3 miles a day. I stopped using the excuse "I don't have time". My wife thinks I'm crazy when I getted bundled up at 11 PM and walk in the dark. It is very enjoyable and I feel great! (up to 30 miles now)
Great post and timely for me in the new year. New Year, New Goals, New ME. Thanks and I will cross you on one of those walks.
Lynn,
I'm tired just reading your post! Seriously though, what I really liked was the tip from the C21 agent...exercise, read, meditate..goals and victories. I'm going to do that! Although I'll probably have to go to bed right now!
Great post and I agree to the fullest. Releasing the endorphins early in the morning "pumps" up the body to really achieve its fullest through the day. I strongly believe in the saying: To make money, invest in your business. To make a fortune, invest in yourself. Great work and keep it up!
I ran my first half marathon today! A wee bit sore all over, you can imagine. I don't think I'm a runner in heart, every step is an effort but its worth it.
