In my household, I am affectionately referred to as the "Bingo Whore". Don't laugh, my mother is the "Slot Slut" (she is addicted to those little one-armed bandits). I have always had fun playing Bingo thanks to the array of colorful characters that frequent these places. The games may change from bingo hall to bingo hall, but the players remain colorful no matter where you live. So, when I heard about this fabulous event going on at the University Village in Riverside, CA, I just had to go. From 6-7:30pm, the public is welcome to come and play Bingo for FREE! Prizes are donated by the local businesses, including Denny's, Game Stop, Fat Burger, the University Village Cinema and various restaurants located in the village. There were also passes for the San Diego County Fair given away. My son and I went last Wednesday night and came SO CLOSE to winning. We both were only 1 number away from winning the prize package that included a Game Stop gift card (thus the face of defeat below when we both lost). I was also 1 number away from winning 2 of the other 5 games, including the final blackout! What heartbreak! Once we lost out on the Game Stop gift card, my son lost interest. But, I think I have him hooked. He's going back with me tonight to see if maybe one of us can win that Game Stop gift card prize package. By the way, tonight is the last night of the series this year. It will be back next June. Wish me luck!

I have family members Heather who religiously play BINGO. Go for it. Maybe one day you will win the grand prize. Just a matter of time.
Thanks for not judging me on the whole "Bingo Whore" thing, Gary. ;) I've won a little money here and there. Nothing big. But I ALWAYS have fun. That's what I win whenever I go.
Hahah !
Whats up "B.W." !!!!!
Too funny that you dragged your son there !...he looks none too happy !! LOL
...I bet he had fun though :o)
Cute post !
Oh, he was into it when he thought I might win the GameStop prize (I only needed 1 number to win 2 different ways for a LOOOOONNNNGGGG time) and then he REALLY got into it when he thought HE might actually win the GameStop prize. But, when the winning number was called and it wasn't on either one of our bingo cards, he kinda lost interest. That's what caused the sad face above, Sheldon. I've convinced him to go again with promises of another shot at winning the GameStop prize. I didn't promise him he WOULD win. I just promised him the opportunity.
BW - OUT! ;P
Hi Heather: Games are fun - never stop playing them or you may grow up!
:)
Never, Matt! I love games too much to quit.
Heather--I love this post. Sounds like you have fun without being overly addicted. I played once in my life. My father used to play bingo in the assisted living home and he won a quarter here & there. Each year he saved enough to give each of his seven grandchildren $25 at Christmas time. Go, girl!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, Mary. I was just thinking about you this morning. I do love me the Bingo. I mostly love me the Bingo atmosphere. It is fun to watch the cast of characters at these places. You meet some VERY interesting people! :)
Well, I think I've found the answer to my question I left in your NASCAR blog post. Uh-uh. That's what I thought.
Bingo-whore...NASCAR fan. I'm just the complete package aren't I, Russel? :) Thanks for stopping by, Russel. I always love hearing from you.
