Hi Gena--
This will be a great addition to the relo package! Did they have a size limit on the cities as part of their parameters? I'm guessing home prices also played a part in their criteria. Hope it helps you sell a few more homes in Sac. Maybe even get that median price back up a little! ;-)
Tamara, size didn't seem to be used in the criteria but rather "creative people." Sacramento has artists, engineers, educators all of whom add dimension and provide forward thinking to the city. Job source was another criteria and Sacramento is adding many new jobs throughout along with the development of the Railyards which is one of the largest projects in the U.S. that will bring affordable Downtown housing as well as business to our Downtown area.
Did you check to see where your City ranked?
Hi Gena--
Went to story and got criteria. Good for Sac! Lake Tahoe/Truckee appears to have been overlooked!
Tamara, well yes and no...you are so close by that you should consider that due to the proximity skiing in the Sierras was also part of the overall pick of Sacramento being close to many great outdoor amenities.
I went ballooning at Truckee and found it to be breath-taking...
Gena--I guess we can be considered a suburb of Sacramento???? ;-)
Yes, this area is breath-taking. And ballooning must be sooooo much fun!
Wow Houston #1???
Hot and conjested. I'm missing something. I'm sure it's nice, but #1?
Really interesting Gena. Thanks.
Yup. Out of all the cities in the United States -- and that includes Hawaii -- Sacramento is where I chose to call home, plunk down roots and sell real estate. I love this city and was so pleased to see it made Kiplinger's list.
A wonderful post and shocking numbers on the median price of housing. Legislatures complained for years it was to expensive to live there but had not choice for a second home. Sounds like they now can really afford them. Nice to see you back posting. Hope your back is better and know I miss talking with you.
William
I agree that Sacramento is a great place to live. You can stay right in town and don't have to go to Tahoe or San Franisco to enjoy yourself. We have some great downtown restaurants.
Gena great job promoting your home town of Sacramento. Your pride is evident and will serve anyone working with you well!
Fred, yep and from what I am told there is a good ratio of women to men. Thanks for popping over.
Elizabeth, so congratulations to us for living here, in Sacramento and selling real estate. Glad you popped in.
William, if you know of any legislators who would like a home here in Sacramento, be sure to give me a buzz, I would be more than happy to help them. Miss you, too and good to see you.
Robert, oh yes we sure do. There are about 30 new ones with more to come. I especially love the sidewalk cafés with a breeze off the Delta. Thanks for commenting.
Bill, thank you. I think anyone relocating to the Sacramento area will be thrilled with the outdoor life, the arts, the proximity to the ocean and the Sierras as well as house pricing. Always such a gentleman with your comments, thank you.
I live very close to one of the best cities, and one of the best people too! :-)
Brad,oh Brad you made me blush!! Are you going to Inman? Love to see you again.
Very cool, Gina. Hopes this adds further to the interest in your community. Guess I need to visit some time - I'v never been there.
