July 4th, 2008 is just around the corner.
Sacramento will be celebrating with professional fireworks in many of the surrounding cities and neighborhoods.
The Governor has asked that Californians leave the firework display to the professionals and not add to the police and fire department calls.
We certainly have had enough fires as witnessed by the smoky-filled skies throughout our great state of California these past few weeks.
July 4th is a time for celebrating our nations birthday and enjoying family and friends. Fireworks are scheduled from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe. With gas prices this year, you may want to chose a community close by. Remember, to click on all highlighted links since many of the neighborhoods have all day events with food, crafts, games and entertainment prior to the firework display.
Stay safe and enjoy the fun! Happy 4th!

Hi Gena, I was reviewing earlier today a list of 23 locations for fireworks in San Diego. Several of these are synchronized with the San Diego Pops Orchestra. I used to go to the SeaPort Village for the festivities but now there is so much traffic, the only way to utilize it is to go in the very early part of the day to be able to even have a place in the grass to spread a blanket. For the last couple years I have avoided the mess but it is so much fun if a group can arrange it like a picnic. The actual show only lasts about 20 minutes but it is awesome. If I had my wits about me, it would have been fun to get our San Diego group together with families and do a whole day of festivities. Maybe next year and perhaps you and some others could join us. Brian Brady used to do the planning down here but he has backed away because it just become too complicated to get people to commit. Happy Fourth of July Gena!
William, perhaps you should put those 23 locations up on your outside blog and help out some of the people down in your area.
