Sacramento Home Stagers, looking to "Stage a Women's Shelter" to give back to the community... Any Ideas?

A group of local Professional Home Stagers in Sacramento, CA are looking to give back to our community by staging a room in a local non-profit women's shelter. This is all new to us and we are looking for ideas and advice on how to proceed. Does anybody have any experience that they can share with us in this type of community service? We know we will need to approach local businesses for donations etc.. but I thought with this wonderful big community on Active Rain we might be able to get some great tips, advice and leads from some of you!
