Changing Lifestyles - from suburban to urban
I've enjoyed living in San Carlos, California for 40 years, a friendly suburban town located mid way between San Francisco and San Jose. It ds a great place to raise a family, babies who like stroller rides along the quiet streets, the children who can walk to great neighborhood schools, the youths who play AYSO soccer (so popular here). We have fabulous neighbors and friends, enjoy the vibrant downtown restaurants and shops and the great classes offered by the city's rec center.

Forty years is a long time, and the children are grown--it is time to spread our wings and enjoy a different lifestyle. Change is good -- when one has the opportunity to choose the change.

Three weeks ago we made the switch from a spacious single-family home on a double lot to a compact, 2-bedroom condo in San Francisco. No more will I feel guilty for neglecting my formerly lovely yard. We can cancel the house cleaning service--I can find 1 hour a week to clean my little place. We can leave the cars in the garage all weekend, and walk to the dry cleaners, grocers, library, opera, symphony, drug store, hardware store, restaurants of every description, sporting goods stores, books stores and --- The Cheese Shop! We can hike up staircases of every description, and then down others. We can walk along the Marina and Crissy Field, over the Golden Gate Bridge and up into the Marin Headlands. The open spaces of the Presidio and Land's End beckon us. I can join a community garden at Fort Mason -- all within walking distance. And a nightcap at the Buena Vista isn't bad, either.
And--since I'm in San Carlos and Silicon Valley towns at least 5 days a week working, I can still enjoy my friends and familiar haunts on the Peninsula.
Life is good, indeed!
If you're thinking it's time for a change--upsizing, downsizing, different environment--and looking for some help, give me a call, and we'll see what we can do to help you achieve the life you are seeking.
