San Diego Elite Community of Mission Hills

San Diego , Community of Mission Hills September 1, 2008
High above the San Diego Harbor is one of San Diego's Premier Urban Neighborhoods, Mission Hills
With many Historic homes, Mission Hills was home to the daughter of Henry Johnston, a sailor that
guided his ship into the San Diego Harbor using a point of land, now called Inspiration Point.
There are several parks and one of San Diego's first Missions ( Mission Presideo) located in what is now called Presideo Park. The land parcels and homes by Presideo Park are some of San Diego's most outstanding and elaborate mansions.

Editorial note: This post was hand written on special digitized paper using my Logitech io Digital Pen and the handwriting was transcribed and then the text pasted here as a post. The title was the Key Words that I also saved. Each page allows for the title tags to be the title of the page.
My title tags in little boxes at the bottom of the page, read, San Diego Elite Community of Mission Hills. So that is what I named the post. Pretty neat. This digital pen could and may actually speed up my postings. This is a model of digital pen that I have owned since 2005. I didn't re-install the software in 2007 when I purchased my new Tablet PC because I was not using the pen that much. Now as a blogger, this will afford writing posts on the fly and posting after synchronization of the Logitech io pen.

Bill - I never heard of this!  I am going to check into it - I write better and faster than I type.

William,

I read and understood the first part, abut the community, and I am completely lost with the second, with the digitized paper and the rest of it.

I will have to ask my son. Does it make a difference oly if you write faster than type? Cause I type faster (at least that is what I think, I did not have to write for quite some time)

Hi William, what ever works to get our thoughts down, right!!  I use Jott as at least I can talk and have words arrive in my email; great for remembering those great ideas that come along occasionally, and of course the idea of the 'magic' pen is very alluring.  I got meme'd yesterday and posted mine if you happen to make it over my way.

Sounds cool, but liek a few of our colleagues I am not familiar with the digitized methods employed here, so it is a little unclear to me.

Huh?  Are you using a tablet, or is this something you can download. I have a tablet, but never post from it, but then again, I've never tried the transcribing from handwriting. I may try the voice transcribing as I have thought about it. Tell us more !

Hi Virgina, There are several different companies marketing the digital pens. They are really cool. Some do not even require special paper as mine does. It is affordable though and the notebooks I buy in quantity keep notes, ideas and even the posts organized. I have just started using the pen again. I had stopped for a while when I purchase my new tablet PC and had not installed the software. Yesterday I thought it would make sense to try it again and it sure works cool for writing posts when not sitting at the computer. I want to get away from the computer more and think this might allow me to do that. The computer has a way of consuming way to much of time and I need to wean from it a bit.

Hi Jon, The digital pen ( it is a Logitech io pen ) is just one more way of capturing notes. I write almost all my posts out first before I type them. I re-read them to look for weakness, more research needed , etc. They I either  use Naturally Speaking ( voice to words) or type the post. Using the digital pen is yet another way to write when I don't feel like sitting in front of the computer all the time.

When you speak to your son, have him check out the various pens out there as some of the new ones do not require special paper. Digitized paper is embedded with millions of microsoft dots that are not easily visible with the naked eye. When you use the digital pen, the tiny lens recognizes the written words in relations to the millions of embedded dots. Then it reproduces the image and the OCS software will convert the written word to text if you so choose. But it keeps the pages organized by synchronizing the pen docking station that is USB connected to the computer and collects that date stored in the pen. When synced which is automatic as soon as the pen is returned to the base, then the data in the pen is released and you can continue to write and load it back up with data. It holds a lot of data so synchronization is fine any time you choose to do it. Hope this makes sense now.

Hi Susie, Jeff Dowler uses that as well. Like you say anyway we can get our thoughts down while we are having them can work. I did make it over to your post and enjoyed your meme very much. LOL.

Just when I get something down another product comes along.

Hi Tom, Actually these have been around for a while now. I just had not been using it and it was sort of like a light went off and it was so easy to set the post up. So as I write more and use pen more, it will be just another one of the ways to provide content for blogging. Thanks for dropping by Tom!

Hi Michael, Do a Google  search of digital pens and there are several models that come up. They are a neat tool for a lot of reasons and blogging is just one of them.

Thanks William,

You are luckier than I am with Voice recognition. Being an immigrant, I have an accent, and these systems refuse to recognise my voice. It is very humiliating, but you can't fool the machine. At least it stays politically correct and does not say: "Speak English, dude"

MR William,
YOu did a great job, because I did not find any difference between the digitized and the normal one, can you tell me how did you do it ? :)
great blog !

Hi William,

You're way ahead of my my friend. Mission Hills sounds like a special place. I love those older home with such character.

Hi Jon, I missed commenting back to you. I had never actually thought of that but I suppose you are right. Although, it is a great question for the manufacture of the program and I would expect that they must have run into that question before.

Hi Ray, Thank you so much. It is all in the pen and the digitized paper, Ray. It is an amazing little tool.

Hi Lynda, It is really a marvelous area and I share your sentiments about these older homes. While I love looking at them when it comes to the upkeep and repair , I would suspect it would be a bit more expensive than something newer.
