The Pacific Beach real estate market did well holding and growing in value although the actual total number of sales was less than the year before. The median sales price for homes in Pacific Beach, San Diego for Aug 11 to Oct 11 was $412,500 based on 98 sales. Compared to the same period one year ago, the median sales price increased 4.4%, or $17,500, and the number of sales decreased 20.3%.

Pacific Beach is known as San Diego's youthful beach and boardwalk area with a large number of beach bars, clothing boutiques, restaurants and hotels are all lined up along the streets along the beach. The area has seen a resurgance in business as many bars and restaurants have started catering to a more upscale clientel. Between the addition of new hotels like Tower 23 in the last few years and some large development along the boardwalk area Pacific Beach is still an ideal place to live, work and even own a condo or home.
