How About This Bargain Home..........Valued at $800000 for $150.00

Ronald McDonald House raffled off tickets raising $300,000 and the new home valued at 800,000 went to a local Pacific beach resident for the tidy sum of $150.00.

The raffle House for a House was sponsored by McDonald's and Bosa Development, the builder of the 2 Bedroom 2 Bath condo at the Legend Condominium Development in Downtown San Diego. The legend is a high rise tower that overlooks Petco Ball Park, the new Ball Park Downtown San Diego that inspired development by the Center City Development.

The even better news is that 26 year old also has an option. He can take the home or $600,000 in cash. It wouldn't be a hard decision for me-I would take the ......, OK, I would have to think about this and way at the possibilities. Loving downtown and the new wonderful living environment, I would likely take the Condo.

it would be fun to have a home away from home and a place to escape on weekends when not showing property to my Buyers. Maybe I would even do a trade up to a larger place downtown and make it my primary residence. Then i could have my second in Hawaii.

Ronald McDonald House earmarked the raffle proceeds towards a 47 bedroom house that provides for families to stay in while their children are receiving treatments. The current home , a 12 bedroom residence is our near Children's Hospital in Kearny Mesa, a community in San Diego.

There is a Ronald McDonald house in Philadelphia too. It is a wonderful thing they do and that is an awesome raffle! I would take the money though.

We have Ronald McDonald house here too (I think every major city does)...but if I won, I would donate the house right back...without thinking twice.

Very cool... I don't think I would donate the house back though.  :-)

Glad to hear all is okay for you and your family.  Hang in there!

Stacey, I don't have the pleasure of getting to decide that one. But I have considered a few things in general about these sorts of awards. By the time an individual pays the taxes on the property, it would difficult for many to be able to even keep it. It would require putting a on and the property taxes here would over $8000 a year on top of the mortgage, HOA Fees. I think the cash in lieu of $600,000 would net you approx $450K and that would be then best used to invest in more attractive rental property. At least that is how my mind would consider this.

Hi Mary , That might actually be a great thing to do as well. I sure would consider that as well. Although, if you took the money, you could set up an endowment that would provide a steady flow of income to that most worthwhile enterprise and it would keep you connected to it for perpetuity. That would be very worthwhile to consider.

Hi, Irina, I am doing fine but the settling soot and ash is still very much in the air and part of everyones life around here. Many thanks again for your concern and it feels just wonderful to be a part of a group that shows they care. Many Thanks again.

I love win-win situations.....and this sounds like a good one.  Ummm the condo or the cash......depends on that lucky winners circumstances, but me, I would take the cash......than I can buy a farm from Todd in Oregon :) :)
