Cool New Tech: VoiceCloud

I called Pat Kitano a couple of weeks ago and left a message on his cell phone. Moments later, I received an email back stating he was in a meeting, but that I should go and check out Voice Cloud asap.

I went, I saw --and was conquered. (Can someone translate that to Latin?)

In fact, it has become my favorite new cell phone technology. Now when a voicemail come in, it is automatically converted to text and sent to my email.

From my Blackberry, I can respond via text or simply return the call.

Setup is easy. Just go to VoiceCloud and follow the simple instructions. I never bother to check voicemail again--and can see what's coming in when I'm with clients or in a meeting.

Oh yes: You will need to re-record your greeting via VoiceCloud.

The cost? FREE!

NOTE: Try "Cloud Today" as password and see if that will work

Sounds neat. does it only work with Blackberry?

Shaun: No. It works with almost all phone systems!

Roberta~ Now that is a great idea.  Is it really that easy to use and is it really F-R-E-E ?

Roberta,  VoiceCloud actually sounds like an effective tool.  Especially, for free.  I might have to give it a try.

Roberta, I need a beta code to sign up. Do you have one? I love email, hate VM. If so please post. I would love to have this feature.

I tried it, but it said I need an invite or promo code.  Are you inviting me?  :-)))  You know how I love this stuff, can you get us a code?  Sounds like a great tool I could definitely use, just want to try it first before I fall head over heels about the concept.. thanks Roberta, hope you're having an awesome weekend in this beautiful weather.  :-)

I'm going to check it out - thanks for the heads up.

Great info ,thank you so much it is a pain to check voice massages if you are in th meeting or with clients.

Hi Roberta,

Another new tool, I love it.

Roberta - what kind of phone are you using?  I'm also curious if this works with a blackberry or the LG Voyager.

Vicki: It is free, as in F-R-E-E, as in no-cost, and no obligation:-)

Jimmy: Use it a few times and you'll be hooked!

Missy: I went back to Pat's original email. Try "Cloud Today" as a password.

Brad: Ditto. Hope it works for you!

Jim:  You're welcome!

Sonja: I so agree:-)

Lynda: Hope you can make it work for you!

Bo: I use a Blackberry, but it works with other phones as well.

( 05/17/08 10:33PM ) — Sheree Wilkerson

Hey guys,

The promo code: cloud

worked for me!!

Sheree: YAHOO!  "Cloud" it is!

Sounds interesting.... Do you still have the voice message available in case you'd like to hear it?

Dan: It is saved as an mp3 file in my email.

Hi Roberta..... thanks for sharing this info. Just a note for our Canadian friends....... you have to be using a US based carrier for this service to work up here.

Thanks this is a great tool

Alan: Did not know VoiceCloud is not available in Canada. Thanks!

Bridget: You are most welcome!

believer: Veni, Vidi, Vici = I came, I saw, I conquered.

Translate I went, I saw, I was conquered.

High school Latin escapes me.

Roberta - I have been using it since I saw your post (and Pat K's)  and it's great. My only complaint is multiple emails.

Jeff

Roberta,

Thanks for the great tip. I hate voice mail more than anything.

Jeff:  For some reason, I also get two messages--but I think that has something to do woth how Blackberry processes two email accounts. Beats me--but I love the service!

Don:  Ditto! Am tryng to get my sons on it, too. They NEVER check voicemail. It is text only.

Roberta,

I have mine setup now. It sure is better.

Roberta,

Can't wait to try this. I have 4 kids, and this alone will help while I'm with clients and they want to know what's for dinner!

I'll be reading you!

This is GREAT!

I am on my way to check out this wonderful sounding new tool. Wonder how long it will be "free"????

Don:Don't you just love it???

Lisa: With 4 kids and a real estate career you will never want to let Voice Cloud go!

Mary Ellen: So far this year, this is my TOP technology pick!

( 07/14/08 09:37AM ) — Brian Solinsky CNE, ABR

This sounds like a great tool. Time to log on to Voice Cloud and get set up using password: Cloud

Some great ideas for it's use in the comments too. Even receiving two emails is faster than calling my voice mailbox, punching in my password, pushing the number to hear my voicemails, then having to save it or listen to it time and time again to get the information, on occasion. Argh! Voicemail as email - sounds like just the fix!

( 07/14/08 09:41AM ) — Brian Solinsky CNE, ABR

Tried to sign up. Says I can only get a 7 day free trial and the promo codes did not work:tried cloud, Cloud, cloud today, and Cloud Today.

Any other ideas?

back again - okay, gotta read "use 7days as code" - duh! Now I'm in for 7 days. What is the cost after that?

( 07/14/08 12:20PM ) — Gerald

We've had so many sign ups thanks to this blog that we signed up and are now activerain sponsors, thank you.

To answer your questions:

- You can disable the option of receiving two emails form the settings page, just check the box "receive my audio attachment with the text". The reason for this feature is we have some customers that wish to receive the audio file attachment (wav or mp3) immediately after a voicemail is received, while others wait until the messages has been transcribed to text and receive the attachment with that email. If you select to receive the audio attachment first, then you will receive a second email shortly after containing the text of your voicemail.

- After the 7 day free trial, we have two plans. $9.95 a month for 50 voicemail conversions or $19.95 a month for unlimited.

Thank you,
