I think most of us are on a budget of some kind at this point. Often one of the first things to be cut out is entertainment. A good way to continue to go out and have fun on occasion is to sign up for goldstar.
Basically, when local events are not yet sold out they offer tickets to Goldstar members at serious discounts. Where I live in the San Francisco East Bay, that means I get to see comedians at local clubs for half price or less if I'm able to go out on one of the dates offered. More than that, they offer tickets to plays, city tours and more. Last weekend Rhiannon and I went to see a musical, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, for $5 each. We've also in the past seen a production of The Wedding Singer.
Even if you're not on a budget, who doesn't love a discount? Plus, you might find fun things to do that you hadn't even thought about before. In San Francisco there are many different walking tours that I didn't really know about until subscribing to Goldstar.
I hope you find something fun and affordable to do in your area!
