Why Living in the San Francisco area is so great - Reason #5
The lovely walk to my branch library
The small physical size of San Francisco and its many distinct neighborhoods creates an atmosphere conducive to walking. A short walk (7 blocks) from my house takes me to the Golden Gate Valley branch library, housed in a beautifully refurbished building and staffed with friendly, helpful librarians.
Depending on my route, I can choose to take in some steep hills (great cardio workout!) or add a block for a more gentle route.
Whichever I choose, I can enjoy the lovely Victorian houses along the way, stop in for a coffee at one or more coffee houses, enjoy a leafy green neighborhood park, or continue the walk to the shops on nearby Union Street or run errands on Polk Street, close to home.
City living, at its best!
