AMS Servicing Bank of America HAFA Short Sales – Where is the SERVICE?

Short sale agents complain about Bank of America and how difficult Bank of America is to deal with in managing short sales. Some agents feel Bank of America is getting better and easier to deal with. This San Jose Short Sale Agent does not share that feeling.

Not only does Bank of America continue to be difficult managing short sales, each and every one of the Bank of America Servicers is exponentially more difficult to deal with than Bank of America.

To be clear, all of the Bank of America servicers who process HAFA short sales are bad. Bank of America short sale representatives acknowledge this. They also acknowledge the process and the system is seriously broken ... and ask for our patience.

They all get an “F” on my report card. If I treated my clients like Bank of America and the HAFA servicers treat me, I'd be hard pressed to find a job digging ditches.

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services' ranks AMS “average.” Standard and Poor’s clearly has not processed San Jose short sales with AMS.

AMS Servicing gets an FFF-. Seriously, I do not know if AMS could possible do a worse job.

AMS Servicing is impossible to deal with. Their HAFA process is a joke. It is designed to take 2-3 times longer to approve. If you want to know why - it's because they profit from it!

The AMS representatives assigned to the files do not return phone calls and do not respond to messages via Equator. After escalating a file just to get a response, I may get a canned email response that does not answer my questions regarding the status of the file.

The AMS short sale department 877-418-4934 is hit or miss. On a good day, or lucky day, I may get someone who is helpful and friendly and who knows and understands their job. Most of the time however I am placed on hold. Then the person comes back on the line and reads the notes to me. The problem with this is that I have more information in my call log notes than they do … and they are not able to get me the information I am seeking.

Just for ducks, grins and giggles, I called the AMS Servicing number that is assigned to the same location as the Executive Vice President of AMS Servicing, James DePalma. The office is located in Depew, New York. That number is: 716-204-3883.

If you would like to see how transparent AMS Servicing is please call the number yourself. Or, you can save yourself a lot of time and simply start banging your head against a brick wall.

You will be given the option, as I was, to press 1 to enter the extension of the party you are trying to reach; press 2 for a dial by name directory; and press 0 for the operator.

AMS Servicing uses Cisco Unified Messaging. AMS Servicing has done an exceptional job in ensuring that we are able to reach no one … at least not at that number!

Call the number and press 0 for operator and you will here: “operator mailbox is full” or it will ring forever without an answer.

Call the number and press 2 to spell by name and you will here: “the name spelled back and then the voice says … calling.” AMS has created an endless loop that routes a caller back to the main menu. That is as far as a caller can get by dialing that number.

San Jose Short Sale Agents are mad as Hell and we're not going to take this anymore!

San Jose Short Sale agents and short sale agents around the United States are challenged to serve our clients because lenders and servicers are not truly committed to helping homeowners or their short sale agents.

Short Sale agents owe it to the short sale community of agents to expose the servicers for who they are. If we do not expose them then they will continue with their lack of accountability and continue to profit at our expense in doing so.
