Local Gas Prices In San Diego, California Impacting Homeowners Buying
Decisions!
Californians have cut down on the amount of gasoline they are buying
for a ninth consecutive months, according to state tax receipts that
document retail fuel sales. Consumption of gasoline statewide was
1.17 billion gallons in
November,
the most recent period on record, down 2.6 percent from the previous
year. Over the past month gas prices have increased substantially amid
crude oil spike and a fire this month that idled a West Coast refinery.
Gas prices in San Diego,California have
ranged
from $4.36 up to 4.70, this is unleaded. Leaded gas prices
range $4.45 up to $4.90. Predictions are that by summer prices for gas
could be as high as $6.00 a gallon.
So, you might ask what does this have to do with local San Diego home
buyers that are in the real estate market. Well---what it comes down
to--- potential buyers are asking that the agent that they are working
with them, chauffeur them to see homes that they have an interest in,
many do not want to spend the money on gas any longer to do drive-by's
or meet up's.
- Wanting homes closer to
major transportation;
- Closer
to schools for children to walk too. (California public schools charge
for bus transportation in some school districts).
- Closer to were they work. No
more long commutes. (Gas wear and tear on vehicles).
- Some
families are cutting back to one vehicle, so they are super interested
in getting to points of interest either walking or
bicycling.
- Wanting to be able to find
ride sharing drop offs easily.
