San Marino CA - August 2011 Sales Recap & Market Update
Since its founding, in 1913, San Marino has been home to some of the most beautiful estate properties in the state of California. It is home to the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens, the former estate of Henry Huntington. The 30 acre Lacy Park acts as a community gathering place as does the Crowell Public Library that opened in January 2008. The San Marino School District has two elementary school, one middle school and high school with a reputation for excellence. San Marino has single family homes only with no apartments, condominiums or townhomes within city limits.

In August 2011 there were eight properties sold according to the local multiple listing service as of September 8, 2011. They ranged in sold price from $1,200,000 to $3,290,000 with a median price of $1,514,444. In August 2010, there were six sales and they ranged in price from $929,000 to $6,200,000 with a median sales price of $2,021,500. August averages for home sales were $1,760,361(2011) and $2,568,433(2010).
There are currently 42 homes on the market for sale ranging in price from $968,000 to $5,988,000. 21 properties are in escrow and they range in list price from $849,000 to $3,280,000.
Demand for properties in San Marino remain high with many homes continuing to receive multiple offers.
