First time home buyers in Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley may be elliglible for a $4000 grant

I was reading an article that I wanted to pass some information on to agents as well as first time home buyers here in the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley's. Your clients may be eligible for one of 20 grants of $4000 each for use by low- and moderate-income individuals and families who buy a home in the Santa Clarita or San Fernando Valley. The funds are paid after the close of escrow and there are no repayment requirements. Here's the requirements your clients need to fullfill to qualify:
  • Your clients must be a first-time home buyer.
  • Their income level of the buyer must be low or moderate as determined by the City/County of Los Angeles.
  • A reservation number must be obtained, then a process completed by merely attending a home buyer education class. For more information contact Jennifer Ricco RE/MAX of Santa Clarita
  • The home must be located in the San Fernando Valley or the Santa Clarita Valley.
  • The buyer's REALTOR® must be a full, current member of the Southland Regional Association of REALTORS®

Jennifer - I have a couple of clients who were previously approved with CalHFA but with the current suspension of some of CalHFA's first time buyer programs, I'm now scrambling to get them into other programs.

For most of them, I was able to get them qualified for FHA but I still have two others that will not qualify for FHA because the simply don't have the 3.5%.  I'm wondering if the program you're talking about might be an option for them.

Anymore details on the program?
