Getting a Copy of Your Grant Deed Los Angeles County, CA.
It's Sunday and I just started to whined down from showing property and opening my mail.
I opened a letter that looked "official". It was from the Title Compliance Officein Los Angeles County. Printed in English on one side and Spanish on the other, they are warning me, a homeowner, that they need to have a deed to my home so I can prove I own it. In official sounding language they are offering to get me an "official" or "certified" copy of my deed for $167. Yes, I said $167 dollars.
This is a blatant scam, everybody gets a copy of your Grant Deed when you purchase a property
and if you don't have it either the Los Angeles County recorder can get you one or most any title company can do it for nothing or a small fee for printing and mailing. If you need one you can contact me and I will help you or a Realtor you know. By signing the document you may giving them written access to your records. Mine actually said "Authorization Form".
