We got a call this week from a local Book Store. The Manager said, he got our name out of the phone book and looked us up online. He said, he was going to hold a Home Improvement Workshop this weekend and wanted to know if we would be interested in being part of the workshop. He wanted us to talk about Home Re-design, Organizing and Home Staging.
He told us that he wanted to have as many representatives as possible there who did home improvements, Painters, Contractors, Landscapers, even a Mortgage Broker for anyone who needs a loan to do home improvements. He advertized it in the local paper, local radio station and in the county events register.
It sounds great, we are trying to get stuff together now for the event. If you have any suggestions as to what we should have on hand, please let us know. It is this Saturday, July 11th, 2009.

What a great opportunity! I would make sure to bring lots of before and after pictures from your portfolio. I would make sure I had my ROSI wheel too! Maybe you could create a little demonstration such as a cupcake that is plain and on a paper plate with just a plain napkin. Then next to it one that is fully decorated on a china plate with a cloth napkin ... you get the idea. Give them another visual about the difference staging can make whether they are selling or for redesign. Good luck - hope the turn out is wonderful!
Linda, Your presentation is tomorrow, how you see this before then. Sheila had great ideals on what to bring. You might want to make up some information/contact forms, (everyone doesn't have a business card) and do a raffle for a free consultation. That way.. even if they don't win, you will have lots of contacts that might turn into more work in the future. You never know... everyone knows a REA. Good Luck tomorrow.

Sheila, We used all of your ideas...Thank you so much for them. Instead of the cupcake demo we used the "Detail your home like you would detail your car". We have two identical toy cars and one is in great shape and the other is beat-up and broken.
Sheila, Janelle and Debra, We gave away Gift Certificates for a 30 minute consultation of our services. It worked out great and we had a lot of interest. We now have a list of names to make contact with. We also walked around and talked to the other vendors and made very possitive connections with them as well.
We would do it again in a heatbeat. It really was a great opportunity!!! As things develope from this I will post an update. Thanks again everyone for being so encouraging!!!
