Green Christmas tips

Were getting very close to the holidays so I wanted to post a few things that everyone can do to be a little more eco-conscious this year.

1- Replace all your old christmas lights with the new LED lights. They come in a varity of colors and and use half the energy of normal lights

2- Make homemade garland- this si a great activity that everyone in the family can do- just string popcorn or cherrios on a string and wrap around the tree!

3- Make homemade gift tags by using old wrapping paper and other paper scraps

4- Buy a living christmas tree. Not only will you have a beautiful tree for the holidays, it will continue to be a decoration in your front or back yard.

5- Instead of going out and buying all your christmas presents this year, think of some homemade ones you could do instead- hand knitted scarves, recycled reading books, home made ornaments. These will bring a smile to everyone's faces.

6- If you want to buy someone something but know they already have everything, check out Heifer International. You can make a donation that represents a heifer and training in its care, made in honor of your special someone, that brings health and hope to people in need. Its also a + on your carbon footprint.

If you have any other ideas, please put them in action and the world will be a happier place this year, literally :0)

Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
