Wordless Wednesday - well, not quite wordless

This is a photo taken by Blanche Shamoon on one of her hikes on the slopes of Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County, CA. After a long, dry summer, our hillsides are golden brown; in a few weeks the first of the rains are likely, and by November, young green sprouts will be visible under the dried grasses. By January, the hillsides will be brilliantly green with new grasses waving to and fro.
If you hike along here, you can choose to take the Matt Davis Trail which leads one steeply down, just about where the dark trees show to the left in the photo, and you'll find yourself in the town of Stinson Beach.
Located about 1-1/4 hour drive from the mid-Peninsula, this is a fantastic destination for a day of hiking, beach combing, lunching, relaxing.
