New Shanghai Circus Coming to Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza in January!

Thousand Oaks Ca, New Shanghai Circus is coming to Thousand Oaks on Friday, January 8, 2010.

The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation will present the New Shanghai Circus at 8 p.m. Fri., Jan. 8 at the Fred Kavli Theatre, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

The company comprises 30 gymnasts and acrobats from China, including many who have received medals in China's national competitions. The show is an orchestrated presentation of Chinese circus acts, dating back to harvest festivals of 2,000 years ago, enhanced by choreography, lighting, scenery and music.

The performers are contortionists, acrobats, jugglers, comic knife throwers and comedians. The New Shanghai Circus has been performing in Branson, MO for several years and is one of the most popular shows there. They have won many awards including the "Peace" Award for their contribution for World Peace through the arts.
