The fight is not over.

Dear Mary,

This is the email I have waited five months to send you - Wednesday, the U.S. Senate voted to Keep Medicare Fair by passing the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008!

I am overwhelmed with pride in the work that you and hundreds of thousands of other AARP supporters did to make this victory in the Senate happen. Our tremendous grassroots support shook Washington this week and everyone here at AARP joins you in celebrating this win!

But now, Mary - I need you to help me bring this campaign home. President George W. Bush is threatening to veto this critical legislation and time is running out.

Tell President Bush to Keep Medicare Fair by signing the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 into law TODAY!

As you read this, President Bush is likely hearing from the same folks that worked against us during the Keep Medicare Fair campaign. That's why he must hear from ALL OF US immediately!

The legislation that the Senate passed Wednesday would:

  • Help ensure that Medicare patients continue to have access to doctors;
  • Improve prevention coverage and services;
  • Improve low-income protections; and
  • Provide improved coverage for mental health services.

There's no time to waste - let's celebrate two victories this week, one in the U.S. Senate and one in the White House!

Click here to tell President Bush to Keep Medicare Fair by signing the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 into law.

I knew we would be able to achieve victory in our campaign to Keep Medicare Fair if we tapped into our grassroots support and sure enough, we did! Now it's time to finish the job!

Thank you for your support. I look forward to continuing to work together to achieve victories like the one we saw this week.

Sincerely,

Barry Jackson
