One of the most challenging situations we face is trying to convince our aging loved ones that they can no longer live in their homes alone. I have personally been through this with both my parents and my Mother-in-Law. It's hard for them to recognize their own limitations. Their strong minds believe they are doing just fine...but their fragile and aging bodies just aren't keeping up! Their home becomes a prison and they are held captive because it is not functional to their aging needs. Well...thank goodness for Assisted Living where they can get the assistance and care they need to live a fulfilling, engaging and social life. Getting them there is the tough part...watching them engage, adapt and perk up is the reward!
If you are...or have been faced with this challenging situation, please feel free to share! My heart goes out to you as I know it's a very emotional drain on both you and your loved one! The following video is a tour of a terrific facility we found for my Mother-in-Law. It's located in Walnut Creek and very close to Rossmoor...which was important to her since most her friends are there. Enjoy!

Hi Teri,
I was just up in your-neck-of-the woods the past couple of days visiting my son and his family in Concord. Walnut Creek is such a beautiful area, I can see why people want to live there myself. I picked up a magazine while there fo 55+ living in the area. Looks like you have lot's to offer.
BTW, did you do this video yourself?
Lynda, thanks for the comment. I hope you had a nice visit while you were up this way!
Yes, it's a beautiful area to live and lots to offer the senior community.
Yes, I did do the video myself. Have a great day!
