Helping A Local Woman in Need - South Bay's Version of Extreme Makeover

A story in The Daily Breeze touched my heart. "While Westchester resident Gloria Dresser, 60, is in Hawaii, The Rotary Club of Westchester is completely remodeling the cancer survivor's home." To help: Stop by the Home, Donate Time, Cash, Gift cards (they have a wish list), Work : Thursday - Sunday. I have emailed Warren Bobrow for more info - will post an update when I hear anything.

Where: 7607 Dunfield Ave., Westchester

When: Volunteers will be needed in the latter part of the week, starting Thursday through Sunday. Times: Thurs - Sat 9-5, Sun 9-late afternoon.

Information: Anyone wanting to volunteer their time is asked to e-mail past President Warren Bobrow at warren@allaboutperformance.biz. A wish list that includes canned goods, pet supplies, grocery store gifts cards and more, will be available at the house for anyone wanting to contribute.

Read Daily Breeze Full Story about Gloria Dresser.

UPDATE: Note from an organizer:

Kim,

Thank you for your e-mail.  We are always looking for more caring volunteers.

We have "pros" in the house through Wednesday and need volunteers on Th, Fri and Sat (9-5) and Sunday (9 until the reveal in mid-afternnon).

We have a designer and videographer working with us, but we do need painters (especially on Thursday).  I've also copied Myra Kriwanek who is handling the "Wish Tree" so she can answer your questions about it.

Please send me the link to your blog and  "friend" our Facebook Page (WWestchester Rotary) where there are already lots of pictures, etc.

Thank you again for joining us!

Warren
