Aurora is Colorado’s third-largest city, after Denver and Colorado Springs. Although most of eastern Aurora is situated on prairie lands, residents have been able to enjoy boating, bike and hiking trails, and even a sandy swimming beach at Aurora Reservoir. Since 1990, Aurora Reservoir has been the primary storage area for the City of Aurora’s drinking water.

Also, many of the lots either back up quite closely to the Reservoir, or at least overlook the water. Although there are not many trees, the views are quite nice and there is a lot of landscaping work underway, including additional water features, such as waterfalls, which enhance the theme of the development.

The Southshore development includes a beautiful 11,000 square foot Lake House, which serves as the community center. Inside the Lake House, residents will have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center, a Cyber Café, a movie theater and the Lakeview Room for special events. Homebuyers with school-age children will also appreciate that these new neighborhoods are also part of the highly-regarded Cherry Creek School District.

There are 14 models open for viewing right now. Also, this development will be the site of the 2007 Denver Parade of Homes running from July 28 though Labor Day.
