O.k., This blogging thing is hard. This morning I am staring at my screen trying think of something worthwhile to write about. Finally it hits me. My brother and his friends visited from California this weekend and kept saying Boulder, CO is amazing compared to where they live and they would love to move here someday. Here is a recap of their weekend and maybe some insight to why.
Friday, they arrive after a quick commute from Denver International Airport on of the premier airports in Colorado and we head to the Pearl Street Mall at the RIO Grande, which is known to have some of the best Margaritas in the country, but we also had a choice of JAX Fish home of the 2008 Top Chef winner, Frasca one of the Top restaurants in the country, The Kitchen, and many others. After one client visited us from New York City they stated Boulder is a great small town that lives big.
Saturday, they woke up and headed to Lucille's for a Cajun Breakfast and began to prepare for the CU and Wyoming Football game at the University of Colorado. The temperature was 72 and the Sun and student body was out in full force creating an atmosphere that can only be experienced at a Division one Football game. Of course CU won (phew actually this year is a little tough for Buff Fans). The rest of the evening they spent enjoying the Street Performers on Pearl Street including Zip Code Man, and The Fire Juggler.
Sunday, We woke up to a hike up Gregory Canyon just past the Chautauqua Park, Dining Hall, and Amphitheater which host events from Colorado Music Festival to outdoor movies throughout the year. The hike was bursting with the changing colors and animals such as deer, bear, and bobcats getting ready for winter. After finishing breakfast they headed to Denver, CO to watch the Broncos win over Cleveland and then Back to DIA to head home.
Some time it takes an outside eyes to realize you live in a truly special place. Doesn't everyone have 300 days of sun a year?
