Summit County Ski Season Successful

Summit County Colorado has been inundated with snow as of late. Over 270 inches of snow has fallen in Breckenridge so far this season, 13 inches in the past 48 hours and 49 inches in the past seven days. Plus 9-14 inches of new powder is predicted through Saturday night! As a result of all the epic snowfall, skier visits across the state are up 10 percent over the same time period as last year.

Other Summit County Ski areas are also reporting impressive snow totals. Keystone Resort had 7 inches of new powder, for a week total of 22 inches and a season total of 169 inches.
Copper Mountain saw 12 inches in three days this week alone while Arapahoe Basin had 3 inches in 24 hours and 9 inches over three days. The Breckenridge area averages 300 inches of snow per year which means we are on track to exceed that figure! A record that winter sports enthusiasts will be thrilled about.

Ski areas report that there is plenty of open terrain due to all the recent snowfall. Don't worry if you aren't looking to make it up the mountain, there are plenty of other winter activities such as dog sledding, dinner sleigh rides, kite surfing, historic tours, mining tours and snow mobiling.
