The above line may seem a bit dramatic but reality is that if we as Realtors don't get on the band wagon of web 2.0 (at least) then we are definitely a dinosaur waiting for extinction. I'm shocked when I hear of current day Realtors attempting to run a business without even an interest in websites let alone blogging, tweeting, or using Facebook. Although I'm not an expert in web 2.0 and at best am trying to tread water here, I see the value of learning for the overall health of my business.

Here are a few staggering stats from my recent RainCamp seminar:
74.1 % of the population is online
16.4 hours a week are on TV
32.7 hours are on the computer
32 % of the time online is on a social platform
There are over 97 million Americans on Facebook, and over 1.7 million in Colorado alone.
There are over 40 million users on Linked In
Over 18 million on Twitter
And over 400 million on Facebook worldwide
Now here's where it gets fun:
87% of Buyers use the internet to start their search
94% of the 24-44 year olds
32% of Buyers find their actual home online.
So am I blogging- you betcha. Am I using Twitter, Facebook, and Linked In- you know it! So although the title of my article may seem dramatic, it's a very real and wise warning from the tech savvy to those of us that need and plan to stay alive in this industry. Heed the warning. Oh and just when you thought it was safe- now there's web 3.0!
