A Simple but Precious Gift to Sellers

A home is many things to my sellers. To the more transient it's just one season in their lives with little to no emotion attached before moving on to the next phase. But for some it holds the essence of family, memories, security, and connection both physical and emotional. For these sellers the process is a journey that has many levels from excitement of moving forward, to fear of change, to mourning the loss of the walls that hold the nicks and dents of their existence together.

My simple way to embrace this journey with them is to give them a small token at closing that speaks volumes about understanding the process and not diminishing any aspect of it. A CD created containing the professional photos of their home in its glory including the tours or floor plans is a welcome gift that helps with closure giving sellers a tangible item of value.

It's my way of saying thanks for allowing me to be a part of such a significant personal journey and to be privy to the struggle and successes involved. I try to include photos of the growth chart scratched into the door frame, the various trees planted for holidays or life's achievement, and maybe the family car for nostalgic enjoyment. These items that hold such significance have become knowledge to me as I was allowed the privilege of becoming in a sense part of the clan during the sale and hopefully will remain as such for life.
