Snowfall in May ... Colorado Springs Weather is Schizophrenic

In Colorado Springs, it is often said, ‘If you dont like the weather, just wait a minute.'

Example:

  • Yesterday, April 30, 2008, it was almost 80 degrees out. I was wearing a tank top and flip flops.
  • Today, May 1, 2008, it is snowing. I mean REALLY snowing ¦

And this is not just a little snow. This is sideways-blowing, sticks to everything SNOW. ... in May.

I love the fact that Colorado Springs has such diverse weather, but I am really sick of the snow and am really ready for Spring. Please?

Great shots.  At least you don't have to look at that mountain from your view.  Weather appears to be in wierd cycles around the world.  Live long enough and you'll see a lot of these strange events.

I love weather shots from ActiveRain members across the country. Makes me feel like I'm there for a minute or two.

Oh Lenn - I actually DO have a gorgeous view of your favorite mountain from that same window. You just can't see it with all the snow.

I hear ya !! We had frost the last two nights and my heat kicked back on. I was disgusted. We have that same saying here, if you dont' like the weather, wait a few minutes and it will change. Personally, I think it is all that global warming going on. LOL

We are having the same thing here in Utah. Yesterday Sun!! Today SNOW!!! Think Spring!!

Very often I really miss living in Colorado. . .today, not so much!

The weather was crazy today!  It looked like a blizzard outside at one point.

Hi Mariana,

Got your invite...that's crazy..the last time I saw that was on my 16th birthday when we lived in NY.. I'll never forget that it snowed 4 inches in mid March and I thought was bad but May?:) I also saw it snow in FL back in the early 70's but that was obviously a quick snow storm:)

Missy - It COULD be Global Warming. Eh.

Debbie - Utah is a lot like Colorado. I just drove through there. Kind of like sister states.

Lori - Part of me wants to move to Texas after today.

Patricia - It is STILL kinda crazy out there.

Neal - Yeah. May. Snow. Not fun.

Eeek, even here in NH we're having sunshine and spring time weather!!!  Fluky weather all over the place, isn't it?

Hope it melts VERY quickly!
Ann

Mariana - I'm so glad  you shared pictures - it's hard to imagine here in Florida !!

Mariana - I am hoping its over now.  Here's to no more snow until next winter!  We are heading your way for kid's sports today - I am assuming its all melted there now?  Ours is gone.

Mariana - that SOOOO reminds me of Boston weather. I am so out of there. We gripe here in Southern Cali when the sun doesn't shine, but so what.

Jeff
