Estes Valley Workforce Downpayment Assistance Program

Greetings!

I am proud to announce that a project I have been working on with a few great team members is nearly ready for take-off! The Estes Valley Workforce Downpayment Assistance Program has been set up with the local Housing Authority as a non-profit, received funding from CARHOF (Colorado Association of REALTORS Housing Opportunity Foundation) that is generated by the interest received on trust accounts holding earnest money and has recently been approved by Bank of America. It has been nearly 9 months since we started the process, and those of us involved are anxiously awaiting the time when it is ready to accept applications.

I am also proud to serve the Estes Park Board of REALTORS as its President this year. As part of my duties to both local REALTORS and the townspeople of Estes Park, I will be organizing fundraisers in conjunction with other civic groups in town to get our downpayment assistance program big enough to help a few families in its first year. In lieu of the typical installation banquet, our board had a silent auction to benefit our downpayment assistance program, with my dear friends, "The Kings of Swing" playing big band favorites at a delicious dinner at the Crag's Lodge here in Estes Park. We managed to raise nearly $1300 for the fund, while having a wonderful time enjoying the musicians and each other's company!
