Estes Park Village Band performs first concert of Summer 2010 Series!

Greetings from Estes Park!

The Estes Park Village Band will perform its first concert of the Summer 2010 season this evening at 7:00 PM in the Estes Park High School Auditorium. (fortunately, we'll be inside for this one!) I am happy to be a member of this organization...I have met many lifelong friends here.

Membership in the Estes Park Village Band is open to anyone...our rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. Call our director Chuck Varilek at 970-227-8704 for more information and a teal band shirt!

Here's what the trumpet section looks like from my vantage point: from the right we have Dr. Joseph Casey, retired head of the music department at DePaul University, Col. Loren Johnson, retired director of the Air Force band stationed at Offut Air Force Base in Omaha, and Dr. Jim Detterline, retired Long's Peak Ranger. What a great bunch of musicians!
