First Time Buyers Assistance in Douglas County, CO

Finally some help for first time buyers! Eligible citizens interested in purchasing their first home, townhome or condo in Douglas County have additional support with the Douglas County Housing Partnership's (DCHP) new Shared Equity Program. This program is for a primary residence only.

The DCHP provides the minimum amount necessary to bridge lender requirements and resources available to the buyer up to 20 percent of the purchase price or $50,000, whichever is smaller, in the form of a down payment. This down payment is a deferred loan that is repaid by the buyer when the home is sold or refinanced.

There are some elegibility requirements though as always. One of them is that you must work in Douglas County. Others are ratios specific to your income and purchase price.

The $8000 first time buyers tax credit has also been improved!

Douglas County Colorado includes these areas, Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Parker, Castle Pines and Castle Pines North, Sedalia.
