Meet Metro Brokers Top Producer Agent Scott Sabina in this video from Metro Brokers TV, where he talks about his background and success, 20 years strong with Metro Brokers.
Interviewer: Hi, I'm Kathy Soltero with Metro Brokers TV. Today we are talking with our top producers here at Metro Brokers and we are pleased to have in the studio with us Scott Sabina and Scott, congratulations for being one of our top producers.
Scott Sabina: Thank you very much.
Interviewer: I mean you have been with Metro Brokers for many years...
Scott Sabina: Yes.
Interviewer: Tell us about your career. How long have you been in real estate?
Scott Sabina: I have been doing it ever since I got out of the sports profession and that was when I was 25 years old and I'll be 50 this summer. So that's quite a period of time.
Interviewer: You are a crazy person?
Scott Sabina: Yes.
Interviewer: Tell me about your career, what have you, what's gone on there?
Scott Sabina: Well I started out working with builders all over the city and I have continued to do that for all these years. We assist them with when people have a house to sell. Then we have branched out in all different things. I have done developments myself--subdivisions, home constructions, buying and selling houses, but listing has been my number one thing that I have enjoyed all these years.
Interviewer: And how long have you been with Metro Brokers?
Scott Sabina: 20 years.
Interviewer: Almost the whole time.
Scott Sabina: Most of the time, yes.
Interviewer: So tell me what you like about Metro Brokers over any of the other bigger brands?
Scott Sabina: Well Metro Brokers allows you to be free and it also, you can use your own abilities. You know, you get to expand yourself and there is some flexibility within the group, we work together, it's a co-op of true professionals who aren't so dependent on a sales guideline that so many people, when they first get into business are, and, you know, you can hire as many people you want, you can have staff under you, and I have been an independent, I've run own company for all these years, and that's the beauty of Metro Brokers for me.
Interviewer: And your team just in this last year has done how much?
Scott Sabina: It is hard to tell because it's, you know, we have closed about a 150 properties this year. I have bought and sold, I don't know how many, 20 or 30 myself. And it's hard to keep track of ours because I let my staff take credit for each of the properties that I send them to. So, you know, it's, I have changed for what I was when I was a little younger.
Interviewer: Letting more people do lot of the work and giving them your time...
Scott Sabina: Well I would review the work, but we try to, you know, I try to guide people, that's team building, is really what I enjoy right now.
Interviewer: And you really like to do listings you said?
Scott Sabina: Yes I do.
Interviewer: What's your primary market where do you go?
Scott Sabina: All over the Denver Metro area, including the Foothills, you know, I'm not too much up there right now I focus on different areas and try and stay ahead of the market, figure out what's going to be the next positive in the market and use that to our advantage.
Interviewer: What do you see as a positive in the market right now?
Scott Sabina: Well right now, we just went through a tax credit going away for first time homebuyers so you can't just put as much focus on that, there will be lot of people who have leaned on that looked back and wondered, so we're focusing on buying properties that are good value and selling them and then have five different construction crews to make sure that properties are perfectly manicured and taken care of so that when we show a property and somebody walks in, there may be fewer showings for the next foreseeable future, so when somebody walks in we want to capture them with quality of our product.
Interviewer: The wow factor more or less?
Scott Sabina: Right.
Interviewer: Okay. So tell me about your office location. If you do so much in the Denver metro area, even the Foothills, where are you located?
Scott Sabina: Well I live in Evergreen, so I enjoy having an office at Wadsworth and Hampden because there's very few lights to get there and it's a great office run by Glen Thompson and we've had a long-term relationship that's really been positive for all of us.
Interviewer: Tell me about the benefits of your office location?
Scott Sabina: Well it's just quick, you know, and it's really easy commute to any other locations. One of the things we've developed with Metro Brokers that is superior as well is you can have satellite operations. I can open an office up north while having an office southwest. I can have an office in the Tech Center at the same time. We've done that before, too, and passed that through Metro Brokers and because of the forward-thinking of this company and this group of people, it's really worked out well.
Interviewer: Do you think that this last year it's been tough to do that 150 units?
Scott Sabina: I think it's been tough really since about 2003. The market has really, it's been changing at a drastic rate on constant basis, so we've had to adapt on a constant basis to what the market is demanding.
Interviewer: And what about in the next couple of years? Are we starting to go back on the upswing, do you think?
Scott Sabina: I think we are looking, you know, strong for the future, and how fast it will become strong, but Colorado is such beautiful place and Denver in particular, you know, it's such great place to be and I can't imagine a place to live that's superior to this. I've been all over the world and all over the country and, you know, if you like climate change like we get all the seasons there isn't a more beautiful place than Colorado.
Interviewer: Scott, congratulations so much on you success over the years. I think that's fabulous and thanks so much for joining us here on Metro Brokers TV.
Scott Sabina: Thanks, we look forward to continuing.
Interviewer: All right. And for more real estate-related videos, be sure to tune in to MetroBrokersTV.com.
