I just read a great blog about a home stager that is having issues with an out of area company taking some of the market share in her local area. It was a fantastic post, but it got me thinking so much that I thought that I'd post my comment back to her about how I've been able to compete with large corporate companies with one of my Colorado Virtual Tour Businesses. here is a members only link to her post: (Click Here)
Competition sometimes seems unethical, especially when you are either starting out, or are struggling in a down market. However, in my humble opinion, competition is always about how you can increase value so that you can gain and retain a client base that demands success... especially in Real Estate.
My best advice is that as long as you can provide value and exceed the competitions best offer through service or quality, success is imminent.
The following was my comment:
Dear Active Rain Member,
I run into the same issue here in Colorado for my Virtual Tour Company.
The problem that I come across most often is that many Agents are used to doing business with huge National companies. I've been able to capture enough of the market share in Colorado and am having great success by explaining the benefit of going "LOCAL" and utilizing Social Media to really knock their socks off.
By going local, Agents are able to keep there dollars in their area and not only stimulate the local economy, but also are creating WORD Of Mouth Referral Machines.
Of course, now that I've captured enough agents in my area, I now have clients out of state that actually want me to fly in. (This is the power of social media, but that's another story)
I wish you well, and good luck! Just live your business and give them a reason to trust and love you... you'll be fine.
Have a great day!
