Put My Foot In It! My own self-help guide to shutting up already!

Man! Every time that I shouldn't open my mouth, it seems that I do! I've had this problem since I was a small child and my mother would ask who broke the cookie jar, or who tracked the mud into the house. Of course without even thinking, I would always say "I did it!" Of course that all changed when my brother was born, and somebody else was around for me to blame. (lol)

Okay, back to the real subject...

Today, the issue is simply that when discussing with a client about what I can do for them, I often tell them way too much, and they tend to get bored. I already have them sold... but I can't seem to stop. I've tried to tone it down over the last few years, but I live my business and am still very excited about it.

Rather than explaining all of the ways that make my Virtual Tour Business different than the run of the mill companies that are out there, I'm trying to teach them about SEO, Web 2.0, HDR Photography, White Balance, Twitter vs. Facebook... and the list goes on and on. I still have the elevator pitch memorized that I came up with 2 years ago, but when someone asks what I do... I go completely dumb and start off with whatever is on my mind.

Don't get me wrong, because I don't come off like a blabbering idiot (at least I hope not), but after spending 10-14 hours a day, for over 4 years getting this off of the ground, it's hard not to want to explain everything.

They always say that "Admitting to your problem, is the first step"... so this has been a good start to "My own self-help guide to shutting up already".

Okay, I'll shut up now.

Thanks and Happy Days!
